JNR: Thanks for the question, Nick! I won't lie. We had a deal in place to send him to a Western Conference team pending the results of RFA. It didn't work out, and I'm happy it didn't. Chris loves this city, and we love him.NickMalone77 wrote:Nick Melon; Charlotte Observer: Thanks for the pole...

Nick Melon; Charlotte Observer: So, if you don't mind me asking, how close were you to actually packing Webbers bags to send him off to another city? Also, with your roster and the rest of whatever's left of the Midwest Division, Do you think the division falls down to either you or those grizzly bears in Vancouver/Memphis area?
JNR: Pretty lucky, yes. You look good for your age.Soundwave wrote:Clint Eastwood:
With the recent subtractions from your division and JJ signing with you in free agency I only have one question.....

It's going to be a platoon of sorts. All of the big men on our roster have certain skills the others lack. Jerome James has put a lot of work in on the defensive side of the ball, though, and his strength really impressed us in training camp. Because of those improvements, he's going to be our opening day starter.Xist2Inspire wrote:Frosty The Snowman: With the defection of Vlade Divac to the Phoenix Suns, who are you looking at to fill the big man void?

If we make absolutely no moves by the trade deadline, I'll be shocked.IamQuailman wrote:From opening tip-off until trade deadline, do you think the team will remain the same or will you be looking to continue molding your team?

JNR: Thanks for the question. We are definitely on the lookout for any move that would solidify a championship core. We're thrilled to have Jackson on the squad and are looking forward to everything he brings to the team.fearthebrow wrote:Random generic Mavs reporter: How serious is team management about newly acquired star Jim Jackson? Young players. We would be looking for young players.NOLa. wrote:Hypothetical scenario question:JNR wrote:If we make absolutely no moves by the trade deadline, I'll be shocked.IamQuailman wrote:From opening tip-off until trade deadline, do you think the team will remain the same or will you be looking to continue molding your team?
If you are leading in the Midwest close to All Star Game, we can only assume that you will try to add more talent around Webber and Jackson.
What if you're not though? Would you consider it time to build towards the future in Maggette and Bell? Maggette looks like a young Stackhouse in the making and Bell could compliment him well as a 3&D SG. What types of players will you be looking for if so?
I'd encourage you to buy, but only a few shares. No need to be reckless with your money.ballsohard wrote:If your team was a stock, would you encourage investors to buy or sell right now?
