Milwaukee All-In Presser

Post by IamQuailman »

GM: Usually we like to reflect on last season. But last season was beyond disappointing. The Central was a gauntlet and we were the bottom peg in the Playoff totem pole. However, despite the total failure of being bounced in the first round again, we managed to escape from Boozer's hefty cap figure and add some additional, reasonably priced talent to fill out the squad, like Marcin and Thaddeus. This helped to set us up for this year.

GM: But then the off-season happened. The league re-aligned. The Hawks were looking to Reset. Other teams were getting broken up, including the championship squad of the Warriors. RFA loomed with Kyrie, Kenneth, and Enes waiting for their 2nd contracts. Cap space available until RFA began. The time was now to make a move. We took all our chips and went all-in.

1) Thaddeus Young for Sean Kilpatrick + Rockets 2017 1st - Or was it 2016? who cares it was gone soon enough after... Anyway, this was the move that set everything in motion. A pure cap creating move to start where we managed to add a rotational player and a future pick.

2) Pernts for Pick #26 - Another move in order to make another move.

3) Rudy Gay + #27 for Draymond Green, Victor Oladipo, and #26 - Boom. All-Leaguer acquired. Hurts to lose Draymond's defensive prowess, especially after his elevated TC (Frye you). Hurts to lose Victor's versatility and skill set, especially after his soaring TC (Frye you too). However, Rudy Gay gives us a dynamic inside-out scorer with this size and athleticism to play 3 positions. On top of that, we got Kevin Wright with pick #27, who we feel could be an instant dynamic scorer for us off the bench.

4) Ryan Anderson + 2 pts for Jamychal Green, Jonas Jerebko, and Rockets 20whatever 1st + 2nd round picks + bag of big black dildos - When we saw the warriors blowing it up, we slid into their DMs with one message: ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ GIVE RYNO. We managed to just bring in ryno under the apron of the cap (literally $40K space left). And with that, we have possibly one of the best stretch big men in the game not named Kevin Love.

5) Match maxes on Kanter and Irving - in an alternate, dream reality, things would've played out 100% differently, but since that doesn't exist neither do the fuks i would have given. No brainer here though. Our 2 cornerstone pieces are home: Kyrenes. And we are happy to have them back.

6) Greivis Vasquez for Thunder 2016 1st + 10pts - Tax man cometh, Greivis goeth. Sucks to move him so soon, but we needed to work on our cap situation and his somewhate hefty (yet manageable) contract was a convenience, not a priority.

7) UFA Sign-a-polooza - Brought in a bevy of role players and brought back Marcin Gortat. We are excited about him coming back, along with the additions of Cory Joseph, Nic Batum, William Sullivan, Kyle Anderson, and Harland Castano. We brought back Arnett Moultrie, but Frye that guy. EAD bro.

8) TC - Well no one can really control TC or it's outcome, but we had a pretty favorable TC as a team (outside of Kyrie's setback). Without looking at outside teams, we as an organization are striving to focus on the task at hand and the players we have in house. In other words, Frye you Victor and Draymond.

Any questions?

Between these 2 teams? Nah. Current squad is far and wide more talented and ready to be relevant for a while.

If you don't win the championship this season, will this year be considered a bust?

It wasn't a smile of happiness, more like one of those grins you make while shaking your head in disbelief. Getting hit in TC sucks, especially after a big contract. I'm just happy that you insured him and that the hits didn't completely destroy him. Still a great player though.

Do you foresee any chemistry issues thanks to the massive roster shakeups over the past few months?

We in Milwaukee are used to slow starts; so we wouldn't be surprised. I hope we don't though. With the East, if you play from behind, you rarely catch up.
