2015 RFA Results

Post by WigNosy »

UPDATED AS OF SECOND RE-SIM

Index updated http://pbsl.ijbl.net as though the signings below (prior to incumbent matches) had been made.

The "incumbent team" (the team that chose to accept a cap hold to retain restricted rights) has until Monday 6/26/2017 at 5 pm CENTRAL to do one of the following three options by posting in this thread. The poster should note which player they are making the choice on. Choices may be edited and changed until the deadline, when the thread will be locked.

OPTION ONE - "ACCEPT"

The incumbent team chooses to match the winning bid. The player remains with his incumbent team and the contract is transferred to the incumbent team. The original "winning team" gets nothing (other than getting their cap space back for regular free agency). The player may not be traded for a full year (i.e., until after the next RFA period),

If the incumbent team submitted the winning bid this option is automatically the option selected (and the player is not eligible to be traded for a full year).

OPTION TWO - "DECLINE"

The incumbent team chooses not to match the winning bid. The player moves to the team that signed him and the incumbent team receives no compensation. The player may not be traded for a full year (i.e., until after the next RFA period).

This is considered the default option if the player signed with a team other than the incumbent team, there is no finalized trade thread with both owners' approval, and no other post is made in this thread by the deadline.

OPTION THREE - "SIGN AND TRADE"

The incumbent team may choose to negotiate a trade with the team that submitted the winning bid. The trade must be legal (i.e., cannot violate salary cap rules and cannot involve players that were traded during the draft as they have not been on the squad for 60 days).

Both parties must post consent to the trade in the Finalized Trade Forum prior to the deadline to choose to accept, decline, or sign and trade. Once both teams have posted in the Finalized Trade Forum, either team may post (and one team SHOULD post) "Sign and Trade" in the RFA Choice thread and link to the Finalized Trade thread to help the staff find it. The Finalized Trade thread's timestamps (both owners approvals) will be the determinant as to whether or not the trade made the deadline, not the timestamp of the post in the RFA choice thread (for those of you cutting it close).

The Restricted Free Agent cannot be traded for one full year following this "Sign and Trade." Any other players that happen to be involved in a Sign & Trade may be traded after 60 days as normal.

A posted Finalized Trade thread with both parties' approval trumps both "Accept" and "Decline" posts made in this thread.

Original post updated due to re-sim when illegal bid was noted. The above are the correct results.

So serious question is there anything I can do about Kawhi signing a contract I didn't offer?

Folks, this one is on me for incorrectly entering Loco's bid. Also, there was another team's bids that were unentered (they have since been entered). In the interest of getting things right, there will be another re-sim very shortly.

My apologies to everyone involved because there are almost certainly going to be changes in the results, and may I suggest heavier use of nodes in the future is encouraged.

New sim results up in Original Post. Deadline for accept/decline/S&T is extended to 11:59 pm on 6/26/2017 (gives the full 24 hours) though I hope you will all get things done by 5 pm anyway. Please see viewtopic.php?f=35&t=4615 for an explanation.

Even though the three matches (Walker, Irving, Harris) did not have a change in results, I will ask the Pelicans, Wolves, and Bucks to re-post their matches in this thread as a courtesy. If they do not post, however, those players will be assumed to be matched (not declined).

Thanks everyone for understanding I'm human too.

This is, I feel, a reasonable concession that should be granted. We control the tax and points system, would have no effect on the game. I'm still <expletive deleted> in trades, but I shouldn't be penalized in our made up points world due to someone's mistake

What about the hypothetical accepts/declines that changed from sim 1 to sim 2? There were quite a few changes... some positive, some negative. I think this is opening a whole new can of worms if we go this route. It sucks; as someone who was adversely impacted from sim 2 to sim 3, I know. But, what if the sim computer crashed mid upload, but the results were shared on here and skype and we had to re-sim, would the expectation be the same then? Would the same concessions be demanded? Results happened but there was an error (computer, not human). In the long wrong, all the bids were inputted correctly on the 3rd sim, and these are the results of that. Sucks, but if I had been in Louie or logpmess's situation, I would've been pissed too.

So, because the commissioner input a bid wrong out of the thousands of bids he gets right. You shouldn't have to pay one of the best players in the game a max salary because he went back and did the right thing? Decline the contract if you're worried about tax. You don't have to accept it, and doing what should have originally been done is not a penalty.

I think yes. If we can identify a solution that we can control outside the game for any of the teams affected, it's reasonable to do so. Not just for me.
