Alright, alright, alright. We're about halfway through the Pick 'Em season, and this episode of Pick 'Em is inspired by To Be Honest's Overrated / Underrated segment. Except it's slightly different, so it's also inspired by late 80's game show Win, Lose, or Draw! It'll require a bit of research on your end (or just wild estimations). You have to decide if every team in PBSL will have a winning sim, a losing sim, or a .500 sim (draw).
To add a wrinkle (and more point variance), we'll factor in whether or not the team is going into the sim with a winning or losing record overall. You get 0 points for teams you get wrong, and here's how many points you'll earn for correct answers.
Pick a winning team to have a winning sim: 1 point
Pick a losing team to have a losing sim: 1 point
Pick a winning team to have a losing sim: 2 points
Pick a losing team to have a winning sim: 2 points
Pick any team to have a draw sim: 5 points
You can see my official entry at the bottom of this post as an example. I'll indicate whether each team has a winning or losing record going in.
As always, EVERYONE can play every week. The best score from your division will be ranked against the best score from the rest of the divisions, so participation can only help your division's cause. And remember, you'll get points at the end of the season for having good attendance. Here's how the participation points break down.
Participate in 11+ Pick 'Ems: 5 points
Participate in 10 Pick 'Ems: 4 points
Participate in 9 Pick 'Ems: 3 points
Participate in 8 Pick 'Ems: 2 points
Participate in 7 Pick 'Ems: 1 point
Participate in 6 or fewer Pick 'Ems: No soup for you
SPECIAL NOTE: If you HAVEN'T PARTICIPATED IN ANY PICK 'EMS SO FAR, you can STILL get a point. You just have to start now. Even if you miss out going forward, you can still help your division get points, so participate.
Furthermore, if your division has the most cash at the end of Pick 'Em, you get 5 points...UNLESS YOU DON'T PARTICIPATE IN ANY PICK 'EMS. Here's the standings after week 1.
For this sim, we'll keep the same prize structure as last time.
1st Place: $900
2nd Place: $500
3rd Place: $200
4th Place: Since money can't buy happiness, I doubt fake money could even buy fake happiness, so you'll still have your winning smile.
