Milwaukee Bucks 2014-15 Pre-Season Sausage Fest

Post by IamQuailman »

GM Ian Quailmen: WELCOME EVERYONE TO A NEW DAY! AND WELCOME TO THE MILWAUKEE BUCKS FIRST EVER SAUSAGE FEST! I hope you all got your complimentary brats and beer on the way in. Additional beer tickets are available in the lobby, but please feel free to shove as many sausages in your mouths. Today, your duty is to get stuffed with delectable dogs, while we discuss the bright future ahead for this upcoming season.
Image
GM Quailmen: The approach to this offseason was to wait-and-see. Starting with the draft, where we had to wait 18 picks before picking. However, at that point, we saw the guy we liked get picked a couple spots ahead of us. So we traded back, and back and back again. Netted us a good little prospect in Noah Vonleh. However, Noah's time with us wasn't long. More on that in a minute.
Image
GM Quailmen: We waited for RFA. Waited and waited. We watched the Blazers sign Greivis, and we waited to see how the dominoes fell. We wanted Greivis back on our team, as we truly think he could have an expanded role on our team this season. More on that in a minute also. We waited and did our due diligence with the Blazers, as we highly respect that organization and always enjoy discussions with them. In the end, we matched the offer sheet given to Gravy, and brought him back. Speaking of gravy, have some sausage gravy and biscuits!
Image
GM Quailmen: So while we waited for UFA to begin, we had some interesting discussions involving our starting point guard, Kemba Walker. Long story short, with a big RFA upcoming next off-season, we saw an opportunity to reshuffle some of our assets and "kick the can down the road" some. We sent Kemba off to rekindle his bond with Otto Porter in Minnesota, and in return, we received a dual threat, 2 way guard in Victor Oladipo, a very big center in Jeff Withey, and the 2016 Blazers 1st round pick. It was difficult to part with Kemba, as having him and Kyrie as the starting back court was very exciting. However, he wasn't our missing link, and we wish him the best going forward. Speaking of links...
Image
GM Quailmen: We waited out UFA, signing only some depth, primarily Kevin Sepharin, who we loved getting last offseason. We also brought some other interesting players into the fold, like JJ Hickson, Norris Cole, Brian Roberts, and Arnette Moultrie. Together, they make a nice package off the bench.
Image
GM Quailmen: Training camp was a huge success, as all of our young players grew closer to reaching their potentials. With veteran presences like Carlos Boozer and Shaun Livingston on the team, our young leaders, like Kyrie, Kenneth, Enes and Draymond all continue to grow on the court.
Image
GM Quailmen: We'd like to open it up for questions now, and please help yourself to some more wieners. The Weinermobile is parked outside and serving fresh dogs for everyone!

With such a deep team, you're primed to follow up last season with another dominant season. It's hard to say at this stage who the best teams are going to be, but the defending champion Hawks are still considered a head above everyone else in the Central Division. In your opinion, is there anywhere this team could get stronger to be considered a favorite to win the Central?

That's a great question. Before I answer it, I want to remind everyone that the condiments are located just past the exits. Now, you mustard by now that we are looking to compete with the Hawks this season. We knew it wouldn't be easy to ketchup to them, but the Central as a whole mayo-nly have one team who may be a lotto participant (Pistons). So we can't really relish in the fact that we have a mostly returning squad. We need to continue to improve.

Obviously moving on from Kemba leaves us with our biggest question. But we have a few different options to play around with to see what fits best. However, if we could somehow find an elite point guard, I think we could give the Hawks a run for their money. Horseradish

Do you feel like you have improved in the short term from last season or will the Oladipo trade make your team take a step back this season while improving it long-term? Also, Harrison Barnes is unhappy while taking a step back after TC. Do you see him in a Bucks uniform long-term or do you prefer Oscar Meyer wieners?

Losing a starting PG is always going to have some negative impacts on a team. But we feel we have the right pieces in place to cover up those deficiencies. Just like you should cover up your next dog with some delicious Hormel chili!

Harrison Barnes will be in a Bucks uniform for a very long time.

If you had to compare the players on your team to sausages, what kind of sausage would you say Kyrie is? Draymond? Booz?

Is this what it felt like losing to the Raptors in the first round?

Kyrie would be a Chorizo, cuz he's spicy on offense. Draymond is gator boudin because he chomps down on defense. Boozer is a bratwurst because Booz goes great with brats.

Not quite, it was a close battle. But we are proud that our boys battled day in and day out. In fact, non-fiction literature is actually being penned about it right now.

By the way, we had some specially made sausages for you:

Random Reporter: This season the Bucks seem to have more quality players than time to play them. How are you planning to spread the minutes around to keep the entire team happy?

Also, how does it feel to see your faith in Enes Kanter rewarded with a great TC?

The great thing about our squad is that they are all about the whole; sure there's "fake news" like the stuff 78 is spouting about Harrison Barnes being unhappy. But all the players here are all in for the squad. We are all connected and work together to form a stronger whole.
