Since it was never created, I hope I am doing this right.
IF YOU HAVE A PLAYER ON A ROOKIE DEAL ENTERING HIS 2ND OR 3RD SEASON, YOU HAVE THE OPTION OF ACCEPTING OR DECLINING THEIR 3RD/4TH YEAR OPTION. THE DEFAULT IS TO ACCEPT.
Please post here if you are DECLINING your rookie's option. These would be players taken in the 2013 draft (entering 2nd year, declining option for 3rd year of contract) or 2012 draft (entering 3rd year, declining option for 4th year of contract).
Honestly, IDGAF; I'm just playing bad cop for the sake of it. But just sayin, the deadline is posted for this in the off-season schedule... and no one is stopping anyone else from making threads when they are needed (see: DCs threads, Rookie Trainings, Paid Trainings, Team Option Declines...). Pretty much people make them when they need them made. May not be the best practice, but if someone really wants a thread made, they make it.
Whether its sim 1 or sim 10, makes no diff to me, but the reason why it's a pre-sim 1 deadline is a) that's how the game treats it (altho there are ways around it) and b) teams IRL need to commit to the options before the season is played.
