Pretty self explanatory. Cap is 15pts per season. Im proposing a cap removal for these, as it creates a cap on potential articles (some people write for fun, others write for points). If people put out the effort, it should be awarded.
I am 100% in favor of this. As someone who contributes to media often, I sometimes don't post all of my ideas for articles because I am at my cap limit. Imagine how many more Pardon The Interruptions we'd get.
At the very least we remove the league responsibilities from counting against the cap. Then, maybe we bump the cap to 20. That potentially gives people 2 more articles to write, if they have a league responsibility. 30 seems way to high, and unlimited will just lead to people gaming the lux tax, imo.
FWIW, I think an expansion of the cap is a good idea. I'm not sure if outright removal is the way to go. Myself, I would rather see us expand to 25 points and see if we feel that's enough and then vote again the following season to see if it should expand more.
I think we're seeing a huge influx of good content - podcasts especially - and I want to see that continue.
I like the idea of separate caps, but broken out like this (similar to scott's original proposal):
10pts for podcasts
15pts for Pro Articles
10pts for College based articles (draft previews would need to be defined)
5pts for Pre-Season Pressers
OR
10pts for podcasts
25pts for articles (college/pro combined)
5pts for pressers
you increase the total cap for articles to 25 basically, you break out podcasts to encourage repeated pods, not just one offs, and pressers maintain their set up. I'm leaning more towards the 25pts for articles (college/pro combined) over the hard splits between college and pro.
With activity being at an all-time high the last few months, I think we should reward and encourage continued growth in our media. Putting a ceiling only will stifle. Sure people will complain about influx of points in the league, but with evolving means of using said points, we should be expanding our point earning system as well.
