Currently the rule states all participants of a podcast are granted 2 points per episode. Do we think there should be some threshold for those 2 points?
For example, if someone calls in or only participates in part of the podcast, should they still get 2 points? 1 point? What's the cutoff?
Personally, I think there should be a 50% threshold to get the full 2 points. For each participant that is on the podcast for at least 50% of it, gets 2 points, anything less 1 point. If someone calls in and chats for 10-15 minutes in a 45-60 minute podcast, it seems a little unfair to be awarded the same amount of points as the "hosts" that stay the entire time.
I would rather see 1-hour podcasts be worth 5 points for "major" contributors (those on the call). Perhaps 1 point per 15 minutes of podcast appeared in for part-timers. But that's just me.
If we can get this proposal more fleshed out by the end of the regular season, it will come up for propositions. At present, there seems to be no consensus on what the cutoff should be. I floated 1 point per 15 minutes of participation but got no reaction. Also there was a hijack to split media points but there has been no real conversation on that coalescing around a solid proposition I can put out for a vote, either.
