Is Kevin Martin a Hall of Famer?

Post by JNR »

Today we look at Kevin Martin. Here are a list of his accomplishments:

Age: 30
Career Averages of 23.7ppg/4.6rpg/3.1apg
4x All Star
1x All PBSL First Team
2x All PBSL Second Team
1x All PBSL Third Team
1x Scoring Leader
1x Rookie of the Year

Are his accomplishments as of now enough to get into the HOF? If not, what else does he need? Can you think of a similar Hall of Famer or Hall of Fame snub?

My gut says no. I'd say it is a combination of not winning (not sure how much this should matter but it appears to matter a lot to the voters) and not playing defense. Eddie Jones had a somewhat similar but stronger (in my opinion) case and didn't make it.

I'm going to say no at the moment. Hate to say it but when I hear his name I don't think of a winner. Accomplishments are okay, but I don't think he's been a top SG in this league.

When I want to know if a player is a Hall of Famer, I ask myself:

"Did I fear the outcome of sims when this player was on the other team?" (Or, did other people fear the outcome of sims when this player was on my team?)

If the answer is Yes, he is a Hall of Famer.
If the answer is No, he's probably not.

I did not fear sims with Kevin Martin on the other side. So no, not a Hall of Famer.
