2012 Proposition Results

Post by WigNosy »

Everyone has had a week to weigh in and it's time to look at the changes you voted for.
Three propositions were voted down or did not apply because other propositions were voted down. So no changes will be made from these propositions based on the results of the vote.
Proposition 1: Color Ratings Removal - Voted down, 16-6.

Proposition 2: Result does not apply since Prop. 1 did not pass

Proposition 3: Anti-Tanking DC Entry - Voted down, 17-6.
We did have one issue that wasn't an "up or down" issue but rather a multiple choice issue. The winner on this was clear.
Proposition 4: Future Rookie Drafts - Fictional College league received 19 of 23 votes (83%)
Effective with the 2016 draft (when FBB no longer has "real" classes for us to base the draft on) we will move forward with a fictional college league. Though the college league players will not start coming in until the 2016 draft, we will definitely be working on the logistics of this in advance, so you may start seeing things this season to get everyone used to it.
Proposition 5: Paid Trainings (Fouls)
"Yes" received a total of 16 out of 23 votes (70%)
"Does Not Count toward paid trainings" received 13 out of 23 votes (57%)
As a result of this vote, Paid Trainings for the Personal Foul rating have been made available subject to the stipulations in the Proposition. The Weight Room has been updated: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=23
Proposition 6: League Responsibility Elections - "Yes" received 12 of 23 votes (52%)
League Responsibility elections are being posted now in the Volunteer Central area - viewforum.php?f=36

I added the responsibility of "Election Coordinator" effective next season (I'll handle this season to get it started). There are a couple of other responsibilities I am working at reorganizing based on need and/or ability to automate; for instance, I should note the position of "Lotto Show" will not be an elected position as there is no way to know at the time of voting who will be both available to do the lotto show at the appropriate time AND not be a lottery participant that season. As such, this will become a responsibility of the commissioner that he may choose to delegate to someone else and award them up to 5 points for doing so. What you see right this second is not the "Final Form" of the league responsibilities.

As promised, since this passed, there will be at least one proposition next year regarding whether or not we want to make the office of the commissioner an elected office, and if so, for what term (probably two propositions, one asking if we want to make it elected and a second asking what the term should be - the second would be ignored if the first proposition fails in the same way Prop 2 this year was ignored because Prop 1 was voted down).

The following owners posted that they voted in the threads and may claim 4 points for voting.

Hey Wig -

I don't know if there's anyone that would argue Commissioner elections are a good idea - let alone a majority. I don't think that one needs to be voted on, IMO

However, Nick is clearly trying to exploit the system without understanding the limitations put in place to prevent what he wants to do (sidebar: brandin cooks traded soon?!)
