Utah Jazz Press Conference

Post by C-Prej »

Welcome, We will start off with last season performance. We did not perform as well as we would have liked too. We felt we should have made the playoffs but we just couldn't. The talent was not what we evaluated. It was our core guys first full year together and it showed. Jonas came in lil out of shape and was not able to perform to our expectations. Now to the offseason.

This year in FA we were able to sign two bigs. We were able to sign Zaza back and are excited to have him. We liked what he brings to this team. We also signed Drew Gooden, a PF that we feel will fit right in. We also signed Baron Davis to play backup pg/sg. All three are good solid vets that we feel will bring experience to help our young players grow.

Training camp went well overall. Some of our older players took a lil hit but are still very capable of playing well. Jonas had a better camp then the previous year. We are expecting him to continue to improve from here. C.J. and Rubio had good camps as well and are excited to see them on the court. Paul George has really put in the work to make himself better and we are excited to see him grow. Thanks for coming and floor is open for questions.

Paul George looks like he's going to be one of the league's monster players. Have you looked at the way the Clippers have found success by building around Durant, and will you try to emulate that? If so, how?

We are very encouraged with the potential of George. We have been busy trying to build this team our way. Clippers have had success both what work for them may not work for us. Thanks

C.J. Miles was a great signing for you a few years ago - now that he's an expiring contract and looks like he's going to be getting a big raise, are you philosophically disposed to shop him for cheaper talent or pay him big money and commit to him going forward?
