ACTION: The VanMemphis Grizzlies select PG Ishmael Smith with pick #15.
REACTION: Loco picks up a second point guard to go along with Bledsoe. Ish isn't as athletic as Bledsoe but should turn into a nice perimeter defender who can create shots for himself. He and Bledsoe are both a ways from contributing as of yet but in time they could be an interesting, if undersized, backcourt tandem.

ACTION: The Lakers select Wesley Johnson with pick #16.
REACTION: Johnson is a cross between J.R. Smith and Ish Smith - he has J.R.'s one-dimensional game that relies completely on taking a lot of (bad) shots and Ish's lack of athleticism... except he's as good as J.R. or Ish in those ways. In time, he might be able to eke out a career as a shooter off the bench.

ACTION: The Suns send the #22 pick to the Hornets for 6 points.
REACTION: The Hornets got ripped off here. The Suns are coming off a championship and retain most of their core so the only thing this pick could possibly have done is messed with their chemistry. The means the Suns handed a chemistry problem off to the Hornets, and we all know Nick thinks Stoichiometry is the European version of Gugliotta. Love this move by the Suns.

ACTION: The Warriors select Ed Davis at #17.
REACTION: Davis has good athleticism but the Warriors already had one guy who can't hit threes in Deandre Jordan. Now they're adding another guy to a team that is built around the three ball? Color me confused here because I thought the three-point shooting of Luke Babbitt would tickle the Warriors' fancy.

ACTION: The Sonics select Jordan Crawford with the 18th pick.
REACTION: Crawford looks like a classic tweener - not quite quick enough to play PG and not quite tall enough to play SG. He can probably turn into some semblance of a scoring option but his defense projects as atrocious, which kind of surprises me for a Darth pick - the Sonics were first in defensive efficiency last season and not for nothing. But as you start getting this late in the draft, you can't expect complete players - you're hoping to get a niche guy and Crawford may become a passable third guard in time.

REACTION: I feel like a broken record at this point - another guard with middling offensive potentials, poor defensive ceiling, and little athleticism. But Neal isn't even going to be a good point guard - has poor ballhandling and passing skills - so no wonder he lasted this long. Andre Iguodala had better prepare for another season at the 1.

ACTION: The Hornets select PG Avery Bradley at #20.
REACTION: This pick... actually isn't bad. Bradley shows a decent offensive game and has high perimeter defense potentials coupled with decent quickness for a point guard. Not only that, he's almost as strong as Russell Westbrook! He'll take some time to develop but could turn into a rotation player at some point.

ACTION: The Bucks select Cole Aldrich at #21.
REACTION: A big man with no offensive potential but decent enough rebounding, interior defense and blocked shot potential, he might develop into a useful rotation piece. At this point in the draft, that's a victory.

REACTION: Patterson projects to have the offensive skill set of a stretch 4 but he doesn't seem to have the rebounding that would accompany a traditional stretch 4... looks more like a stretch 3 except he's slow afoot. Not sure he'll wind up being a good fit anywhere, but he'll do fine fetching Gatorade for Z-Bo.

REACTION: Might be listed as a SF, but size and skill set suggest he's a post-defending big man who doesn't block shots - but is surprisingly quick. I'm actually intrigued to see how he turns out.

ACTION: The Celtics select PF Trevor Booker with pick #24.
REACTION: Booker's game looks a lot like Adrien except without the height and post defense. Normally this is the point in the draft where I'm complaining that if you can shoot the three, no matter how crappy your other skills are, you get drafted. This year it seems like if you can rebound, no matter how crappy your other skills are, you get drafted. Weird.

ACTION: The Knicks trade Carmelo Anthony to the Magic for Trevor Ariza and three picks.
REACTION: First the Bucks, now the Knicks. Guess this is a testament to the belief that you don't want to be stuck in low-playoff-seed purgatory forever, but that you have to blow things up if you want to build a winner. The Magic now have a very nice-looking core of talent under the age of 26 and if they can get the pieces to fit, may be a force in the East this season. Wonder if the Nets are planning on making a move now.
