I guess we'll only know how good Ben is once Kemp leaves. We've already seen him try and let go of his blankey but can't seem to.

Wait, what? Age was the only thing that could nerf Malone.

Anyway, Kemp gets my vote. I don't think Penny gets last season's Warriors team to the Finals, and Kemp's pushed other weaksauce teams (not your fault, Bow) to division titles and playoff wins over his career.

This article is ironic considering the writer (JNR) had the opportunity to draft Penny first overall in the 93 draft and didnt take him
Pacers Ring of Honor
P.Ewing (90-93, 98) - R.Pierce (90-91) - S.Augmon (91-96) - D.Brown (93-96) - D.Strong (91-97, 99-02) - P.Pierce (98-05, 12-13) - D.Williams (05-17) - I.Shumpert (11-16) - D.Dedmon (13-18) - J.Williams (19-25, 31-32)

Ouch, I still remember telling Raby to take Penny #1 on Skype chat. Webber was a big and the obvious choice, but Penny really looked good. Especially after his TC boost.

No one will agree or believe me, and that's fine, but I don't regret that choice for a second. I'd still pick Webber today if I had the choice. There's no telling I could have made the runs Darth did with Penny. And there's a good chance Darth wins titles with Webber. You have to know your limitations as a GM and I know that those two titles have a lot more to do with Darth's team building and gameplan than one p/p guard. I'm not sure I could replicate his success if I chose Penny first.

I got burned by choosing Drexler over Malone or Kemp in the creation draft and I promised I wouldn't choose a wing over a big again. I am happy with my choice, and for all my limitations as a GM I've made two conference finals with Webber and am very happy about that. So yeah, if we ran the draft again today, I still go big.

I'm taking Kemp too. For the simple reason it's easier to win with a big. You have to be really creative (and good) with gameplanning with a player like Penny (or Magic) versus a player like Kemp (or Zo).

I'll also back up JNR I would have taken Webber no doubt over Penny at the time.

Honestly you couldnt go wrong with either choice

The creative part...so damn true. Kemp is the reason I scrapped my whole team only 2 years into this league. I went to the finals, and then the following year Kemp stomped me in the first round. It took some time to finally figure out the formula to beat him. You can't just have a good team to beat him. You have to get creative and be a bit unorthodox.

Bump. Their careers are almost over. Penny won one more championship after this post.

The poll was 12-2 in favor of Kemp. Do we still feel that way as their careers come to a close?
