Currently 5 polls up; 6th will be coming later (waiting on clarification before posting). Once you vote, please post "VOTED" in the thread (there's no way of tracking who posted, otherwise). To claim voting participation points, you MUST vote in all polls and post "VOTED" in each thread. No exceptions.
Reminder: If you voted, in order to claim voting participation pts, you need to a) vote in each of the 7 polls and b) write "VOTED" in each poll thread.
IF YOU DO NOT DO BOTH, YOU CANNOT CLAIM POINTS. I will check all the threads for who posted and post a PT Claim thread later.
A reminder: Polls will close upon the conclusion of the Finals. If you havent voted, please vote before then. Remember to post VOTED in the thread after you vote. In order to qualify for the voting incentive (2pts), you need to: a) Vote in all 7 polls and b) type VOTED in each thread. If you miss one (i'm keeping track), you will not get credit. If you do NOT post "VOTED", I cannot keep track and will not be able to give you a heads up if i notice (no guarantee I can give everyone a heads up, but if i do notice something, I'll try to let you know)
I've seen a few Skype questions about the proposed point system, and since the discussion thread is locked, figured I would dump this here for sake of reference. I calculated the total points each team would have received for this season under the new and old points system. This does NOT count media points and DC Participation points.
Also, the following have not been included below because, well, they haven't happened yet:
Conference Champions
League Champion
Teams are listed in the same order they appear on the Standings page in the Index. I list the "old system" point total first, then the "new system" for reference. For example, "Celtics 77/36" means the Celtics should have qualified for 77 points based on the "old" point system and would have qualified for 36 points if we had been using the "proposed new" point system this year.
Celtics 77/36
Nets 22/27
Heat 26/30 (Note: 39/34 if they win the ECF but lose in the Finals. 49/38 if they win the title.)
Wizards 15/10
76ers 0/8
Magic 14/10
Knicks 6/8
Bucks 49/43 (Note: 57/47 if they win the ECF and lose in the Finals. 67/51 if they win the title)
Raptors 46/31
Pacers 12/15
Hornets 20/19
Hawks 29/25
Cavaliers 23/21
Pistons 0/6
Bulls 7/8
Kings 42/42 (Note: 50/46 if they win the WCF and lose in the Finals. 60/50 if they win the title)
Lakers 63/43 (Note: 71/47 if they win the WCF and lose in the Finals. 81/51 if they win the title)
Warriors 54/41
Suns 9/16
Clippers 22/17
Trailblazers 0/7
Supersonics 3/3
Total points awarded to this point: 735/619 (remember, the new system bumps up the media cap from 10 to 15 to reward participation; that's a 145 point bump that accounts for the difference)
Great series, Logan. This series was a helluva lot closer than the record shows (2 buzzer beating missed jumpshots away from being 3-1 Heat after 4 games), and your team pushed my ass to the limit to make adjustments. Your team is damn good.
