Hall of Fame Class 2008-09

Post by JNR »

Hello and welcome to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. Thank you for joining us tonight as we induct the latest member into the PBSL Hall of Fame.

From humble beginnings in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Latrell Sprewell quickly learned that his path would be harder than most. Not heavily recruited, he played two years at a Missouri Community College before finishing his career at Alabama. From there, he was drafted to the Clippers, where he immediately made an impact.

He made the All Star Team for 6 consecutive years, averaging nearly 25 points per game over that stretch. One of the fiercest wing scorers of the era, he also made four defensive teams, proving himself to be one of the premier two-way players of the generation. After making the second round only twice in his time in LA, he was traded to Atlanta and immediately made an impact, helping win two championships and being the glue to the best PBSL team of all time. Although his scoring dipped, his tenacity never did.

He will be known for several things: his hunger for glory, his tenacious spirit, and his relentless pursuit to provide for his family. He was dealt a bad hand in life, and he choked it out until he got what he wanted. And now that path has led him to the PBSL Hall of Fame.

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing our newest member…Latrell Sprewell.

Thank you, and good night.

The fact that anyone voted no is just ridiculous.

I think Nick and Inner admitted to voting "no".

I voted for Steve Smith. He was on my top his last season and was a pro. Still a very solid player and a starter on my last playoff team.

He'll be automatically on the ballot next year. Hopefully those no votes become yes votes.
