The new season is about to start! What to expect this season? Let's go over how the Computer sees the divisions as well as the All-League and All-Rookie Squads! Free free to add in to the discussion.
Atlantic Divison
1. Boston Celtics
2. Washington Wizards
3. New Jersey Nets
4. Philadelphia 76ers
5. New York Knicks
6. Miami Heat
7. Orlando Magic
Boston is a deep team and defending division champs, but I like the Nets and 76ers being able to keep up. The Wiz have Rashard Lewis, but I'm not convinced they're as good as the Nets and 76ers. The Knicks have a promising future with the Zen Master, but they're not there yet. Miami has a good starting 5, but not much depth and the Magic are still ded for now.
Central Division
1. Milwaukee Bucks
2. Toronto Raptors
3. New Orleans Hornets
4. Cleveland Cavaliers
5. Chicago Bulls
6. Detroit Pistons
7. Atlanta Hawks
8. Indiana Pacers
This division looks strong as well. Obviously the Bucks are strong overall, but the Hornets are the defending Eastern champs. However, I see a big drop off from Booth to Webber and they took a hit at PG in TC. So are the Raptors the legitimate number two in this division? Sure maybe? They added Perkins, they have talent at the 2-3-4 spots, but PG will be an issue with two young guys in Barrea and Stuckey. Plus depth is an issue as well. The Pistons/Hawks/Cavs/Bulls/ have pieces to be competitive, but I can't seem being in the top 3 for now.
Midwest Division
1. Utah Jazz
2. Denver Nuggets
3. Minnesota TWolves
4. VanMemphis Grizzlies
5. Dallas Mavericks
6. San Antonio Spurs
7. Houston Rockets
The Jazz added Stephen Jackson with Tim Duncan, but depth and PG will be trouble spots. However, due to poor TCs from the Nuggets and TWolves, the Jazz have a good shot to win the division. The Twolves have solid pieces around Bosh and Rip, and the Nuggets are defending champs with the same talent so expect the Midwest to be a dogfight all season. The Grizz could be a wild card, but seem to be a bit young at PG and no true superstar to keep up with the top 3 teams. The Texas teams should struggle this season and this could be the first time in a long time where no Texas team makes the playoffs.
Pacific Division
1. Sacramento Kings
2. LA Clippers
3. Portland Trail Blazers
4. Seattle Supersonics
5. LA Lakers
6. Phoenix Suns
7. Golden State Warriors
Obviously the Kings are OP, so the real question is who will finish second. Clippers added Dirk and Durant, but the Sonics and Lakers should make a real push for that second spot. The Blazers are projected to finish 3rd and have some pieces, but I like the Sonics and Lakers better for now. The Suns and Warriors are currently rebuilding at this point.
All-League Team
C - Tim Duncan (Jazz)
PF - Tim Thomas (Raptors)
SF - Stephen Jackson (Jazz)
SG - Ron Artest (Bucks)
PG - Tracy McGrady (Kings)
Hard to argue with this OP list. However, the Kings will tell you that Tyson Chandler is OP as well and should be ahead on this list. Maybe they will play him at PF.
All-Rookie Team
C - Joakim Noah (Bulls)
PF - Carl Landry (Pistons)
SF - Kevin Durant (Clippers)
SG - Jared Dudley (Warriors)
PG - Rodney Stuckey (Raptors)
How many of these guys will start? Dudley and Durant will for sure as well as Noah. But I don't see Landry starting so expect Horford to make this list at PF! I think Conley has a chance at PG over Stuckey.
