Hello and welcome to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. Tonight is a very special night, for we induct the latest member of our PBSL Hall of Fame.
Born in Hawaii and raised in California, Cedric Ceballos always embodied hard work and strong will. He fought through multiple obstacles, transferring from Ventura College to Cal State Fullerton before his junior year. He was drafted in the creation draft by his hometown Lakers and played a vital role in securing their championship in 1992. From there he was traded to Golden State, where he won two more championships, established an all-star reputation, and formed a two man tandem with Shawn Kemp that is feared and respected to this day. During his peak he averaged over 20 points per game 8 times, was a six time all star, and won the Slam Dunk contest three times. His scoring, rebounding, and tenacity was known through the league. Many regard him to be the most important part of those Golden State teams. Shawn Kemp is quoted as saying, "Without Ced we wouldn't have gotten anywhere."
Cedric Ceballos retired with averages of 18.5ppg, 7.5rpg, and an impressive 55.4 TS%. He will be forever known for bringing three championships to the state he grew up in, and for being one of the hardest working stars in PBSL History.
Ladies and gentlemen, please help me in welcoming Cedric Ceballos into the PBSL Hall of Fame!
