Playoff DC, DC Lab

Post by 42PhD »

Given the compressed schedule and importance of the playoffs, I wanted to make some suggestions to be taken entirely, in part, or not at all.

1) At least 1 non-playoff GM should be running point on all DC's and be the main inputter.

2) A second non-playoff GM should receive all DC's as well and review submitted DC's.

3) If this is not feasible, playoff GM's should handle the duties for the opposite conference, but who that is should be FIXED for each round.

4) GM's should state ahead of time that if they miss a DC whether it goes SAME or RECOMMENDED or if they have a FALLBACK DC. I do not know the default, but I can see arguments for all.

5) If the video can be sent BEFORE the sim, not after, people (or a delegate) can point out difference between their submittal and the video. It will not affect gameplanning. The sim may not happen as early, but the responsibility shifts to the GM, not the inputter who is managing a complex task.
There's no "I" in team, but you can find "Eat me" if you push it too far.

All good recommendations, but the only issue i have is creating/posting the video. I cannot guarantee when that can be up, or if I'll have time to create the video. Making the video requires you to be on a computer (assuming you are using team viewer's video capture), or at least a connection to the internet where you can record it and post it to youtube. Unfortunately, my work internet does not permit me to upload videos, so this would be something that I cannot do until after I get home. Again if someone else who will be part of the inputting team going forward can do this, more power to them.

But we would definitely need to iron out the coordination of this before putting it in place. But its a good idea and a good start.
