DC Submission Discussion

Post by 42PhD »

I have noticed several issues of improper DC input in recent seasons. As such, I feel the process, end to end, needs to be reviewed from end to end.

I want to invite all comments here, even dumbass ones, but I am taking this seriously.

If someone wants the data on why I am doing this, I will post it.

For now, here is my idea:

We have at least 2 days between sims. I'll use Monday to Wednesday as an example.

Monday sim does not go well, so you want changes. If you submit a DC before Tuesday at 5, then you get a video (like preseason) sent back to you with your DC to proof by Wednesday morning.

If you submit after that, no change. Seems a little extra work, but early submission as a requirement relieves the pressure.

Also, a video each weekend of the "current" state as a quality check may be low cost, high benefit.

I do not know how much effort the videos are, and "high cost" solutions are off the table.

Though requiring direct submission of DC's has been dismissed at too onerous (not disputing that), an option for it may be good. A post in the DC thread would still be required.

Or, maybe the option to review it online would shift blame for allowing persistent errors back to GM's and away from the inputters.

Is been a week with no objection, so it sounds like these are some good ideas. Of them, which are the easiest to implement?

Video each weekend wouldn't be hard to do; I could probably swing that. Videos every sim, I don't think I could swing that (would need to be on my computer to create the video and upload).

If you are willing to, then let's call that the improvement. Perfection is an unreasonable expectation; but reasonable, low cost improvements are a very good thing.
