Pre-All-Star Advanced Stats

Post by Soundwave »

Just before the players head out to wherever the hell the All-Star game is held this season I figured I would take a look at out league leaders in advanced stats. This may help project who is gonna be in the game but it is not an All-Star team projection. For purposed of this listing I have disqualified players who do not play more than 10 minutes a game and/or have not played in about half their team's games. This rule has disqualified a few guys but most notably Chris Webber. I did not think it would be fair to rank a player with a small sample size compared to everyone else.

With that being said, here we go........

Top 25 PER
Tim Duncan 33.2
Kevin Garnett 31.9
Jalen Rose 30.1
Shawn Kemp 29.9
Eddie Jones 28.0
Paul Pierce 27.6
Antawn Jamison 27.6
Tracy McGrady 27.4
Anfernee Hardaway 27.1
Elton Brand 26.9
Shareef Abdur-Rahim 26.0

Jim Jackson 24.3
Rashard Lewis 24.2
Baron Davis 23.4
Shaquille O'Neal 23.0
Jason Kidd 22.9
Grant Hill 22.6

Ok, who the hell is Maurice Taylor and why is he only getting 15 minutes a game?
Why has Shaq plummeted?
Brand would be top 5 if not for Gug's addition. (Not that I a complaining)
Baron Davis making his way up.
Penny Making his way down

There you go Elton!
Udonis Haslem was in the 19 range but had to be cut at just over 8 minutes a game.
List runs a bit longer due to the tie at the end.
Yao! Way to go rook!
Where the WIG is Penny???
Also hate that Wig got his hands on Curry. Someone should be ashamed of themselves.

List wasn't exactly who I thought it would be, very interesting lot of guys at the top.

OK, that concludes my review, for now. Feel free to ask questions. ALSO Comments are welcome and appreciated.
I still got all my fingers but somewhere I lost my mind.

Mostly the ASTr. The top players aren't superstars, but strictly setup men. I've always felt players like Knight and Vaughn are underrated and I think this shows I could be right.

Agree, my personal philosophy is that you dont need an all-star PG to be good, just someone who can facilitate to your main guys
Pacers Ring of Honor
P.Ewing (90-93, 98) - R.Pierce (90-91) - S.Augmon (91-96) - D.Brown (93-96) - D.Strong (91-97, 99-02) - P.Pierce (98-05, 12-13) - D.Williams (05-17) - I.Shumpert (11-16) - D.Dedmon (13-18) - J.Williams (19-25, 31-32)
