It's with a heavy heart that I officially announce my resignation as the longtime GM of the Detroit Pistons.
It has become abundantly clear that the job of rebuilding this franchise back to prominence is too much for me to achieve, and it is only fair for the organization to inject some new blood into what has become a very stale product.
I will always hold dear the great people and players I worked with here in Detroit during my time. From Reggie Miller and Steve Smith to Jason Terry and James Posey, I have always had a fun group of guys to run the show. Had I done a better job of evaluating talent, those guys would have reached the pinnacle that the so richly deserved. Thank-you all for making me look good even for a brief moment.
While I am vacating this role as the general manager of this franchise, I hope that taking a short hiatus from the league will reenergize me to get back to what I truly miss: producing content and interacting with the other general managers I so truly call friends.
In closing, I only have two words:
DEEEEEEETROIT BAAASSSSKKKKKEEETTTTBAAAALLLLL!!!!
Much love,
The True GMOY
Back in the day, I won the division a few times...
