Which teams in the middle of the pack have the most intriguing stories?
The Cleveland Cavaliers have corrected course since their slow start and look to be firmly in the playoff race now despite a large tax bill. The team is much more balanced now after trading away Sleepy Floyd and Michael Adams is continuing to make ascend into superstardom. The tax bill is still high and they traded away multiple first round picks now, but this team is built to win now. And it is finally doing so.

What stands out about the rosters, and their directions?
I like how well balanced the squad is currently but they seem to still be lacking a Robin to Adams' Batman. I'd try to shop the Vanos contract at the deadline and see if they can get more firepower in the post, but this team is trending in the right direction as we head into the homestretch.

No disrespect to any of the teams, but I don’t really think any middle of the pack teams are really intriguing this season. The East has the Bulls, Celtics, and Bucks who are contenders. The Cavs are trying but far from making any noise and then everyone else is tanking in some way. The Pacers did just make a move for Eddie A but not sure if that really pushes them into contention. It maybe helps get them home court advantage in the first round but that’s about it.

In the West, it’s kinda more of the same just the blazers and warriors switched. Kings and spurs at the top of their division, the Pacific having 4+ teams who can make the playoffs with good records. The Warriors do have some young players who could easily take over once their older players are declining so they might be the most intriguing team as far as the future goes. Just depends if Greeple sticks with it or tries to make moves before the young guys fully develop. The Timberwolves could be intriguing but I feel like they’ve just been victim to the blazers dominating and then the SuperSonics dominating. They’ve been well above average, just always in a tough division

I'm gonna go Nuggets and Blazers up and down respectively.

I didn't think I would ever see a season where Blunt Trauma went out of style, but Wig made a major miscalculation on the sanity level of this league, and GM's willingness to throw imaginary money in all directions.
I think the move he tried to make is about 4 seasons too early, and it reminds me of when I misread the market on Terry Tyler.
He should have just maxed Thompson and Worthy, super-max even, and then traded them for assets.
Losing both for nothing REALLY tore down his build in one swoop.
Now he traded away Eddie Johnson and lacks any semblance of star power that is poised to carry a team.
Might be a few seasons rebuilding for them.

The Nuggets on the other hand are absolutely loaded with young talent that I like.
They're going to be TUFF in the coming seasons if they can get the money situated.
They'll be forced to pay Seikley and Grant, but McMillan's contract is not too heavy and they have Anderson, McCloud, and Robinson cheap for 3 seasons. They will be a force to deal with in no time at all.

Suns, Blazers, Rockets....which way do they go? Suns have the 6th spot as of now. I don't think it's a firm hold though. Blazers are right there, and I dunno what the Rockets are doing per usual but they should be better and competing for that 6th spot. The Blazers made a large trade and got rid of Eddie Johnson. I have a peculiar feeling they'll be dealing Buck Williams soon. They won't be much more of a bother to the Suns.

What stands out about the rosters, and their directions?
Because of subtraction I think the Suns win the 6th seed. I wish the West had some players that would see an opening and start buying. It would make it fun at least.

I'm enjoying the middle tier of the West going at it. It's great to see the Wolves & Warriors not only competitive again, but engaged in the league. Both have incredible strong rosters with a core superstar, and will be forces for a long time if they can hold things together for a few more seasons. As for the East? Meh, after the top 3 teams, it's not much of a race. Credit to the Hawks, Pacers & Cavs, as they have made moves to get better and try to compete and make noise. I think the Hawks can really make some noise in the post season, depending on seeding. They have a very talented team, but does it all mesh? Or does Ryan have another move up his sleeve before the deadline.
