My dude, Mr. Kemp, you’ve come to the right place! Only I, Greeple airport, have enough points to show you the ways of the force. I’ve milked the rebellion and the empire for all their greatest tricks, and I’m ready to unleash them in the form of Jedi Shawn Kemp.

You will use the force, the force of however many points I can pump into you without making you an actual Jedi because in this godforsaken sim galaxy a Jedi master cannot simply make a Jedi of his padowan.

First you must face these fierce competitors with absolutely no support.

You will fight valiantly with the force behind you, but you will not withstand the evil forces of the empire, nor the already destroyed MJ Death Star duo. You will blow up… like… well…

Image

But you will be better for it in the end. Come next season, you will have another master Jedi at your side, and together you might have a chance at freeing the sim galaxy from slimy tyranny.

Master Jedi Kemp, you will come to find, it is YOU, not I, who is our only hope.

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: While I am sure you do not plan to be competitive this season, are you going to try to persuade others to trade overpaid bloated contracts to your team to try to improve play, and get some points through them playing well on a team void of talent, or are you going to slow roll this?

It depends, really, on what the New Hope of Golden State wants to do. He went from my padowan to my Master Jedi really fast, so I will do whatever he tells me to do because he is not only smarter but generally a better person than me, too.

I could take on bad contracts and be better, or stay bad. It really depends on the return for those contracts.

GWR: Kemp certainly appears to have potential but do you have plans in place if he doesn’t meet it?

No. He is our only hope.

Truthfully, it’s good we’re staying bad. We’re rebuilding through the draft, and that’s our best path to victory. Because we truly, at the moment, only have one hope: Master Jedi Kemp.

Do you plan on pay training Kemp before he eventually becomes purple and also will this be a redshirt years for Kemp?

Nah, I’m not playing the red shirt game. His numbers will not be good, and pail in comparison to The Admiral, but I don’t need the 2 or 3 points hell get to be Rookie of the Year.

I’m slow training Kemp, because I need the new training-into-A-potential rules to be passed to make any meaningful trainings happen without breaking into my war chest of a point bank.

But yes, until he pops purple in TC I will pay to train him.

I love that you are leaning into a full rebuild; i feel like some of your best teams have come from when you've just decided to use the force and just blow up the death star. How long do you see this rebuild taking before you are able to ramp up to a fullscale rebellion against the Spurs?

Steve Duin, the Oregonian...

You're obviously all-in on building around Kemp; do you feel any of the other young pieces you have in place now are pieces you can use to build around him, or should everyone not named Shawn fear the trade block this season?

Also, would you pay 15 points to bring Robert Parish back to mentor Shawn?

Ha! i see what you did there.

The power of the force will guide Kemp and our rebuild. Our 2-6 start is a huge disappointment, though, based on our preseason 0-6. We may have to move off of a few pieces more quickly than we thought.

Once we get one more key player, hopefully about as raw as Kemp, we'll start moving toward being a contender. Will we upend the Spurs? Bucks? Blazers? Someone else? Depends on when we're good, but when we are, everyone is on notice.

LOL, where is my boy Bobby these days? Totally lost track of him. We wouldn't pay 15pts but we're always happy to see Parish in a Warriors uniform.

We like what we see from Tisdale, but depending on what other pieces come our way, we may move off of Tisdale, too. He's putting up starter star caliber numbers as a y/g, which may have more value on the trade market than in the Kemp build. Time will tell. Everyone else should keep at least one bag packed at all times.
