The best player that’ll likely get snubbed? There’s likely a player under strong consideration for both East & West squads but let’s take a look at some players that might be on the bubble… I can see Clark Kellogg of the Nets potentially getting the snub eventhough he’s averaging 23-10 atm. If the Nets were in better standing in the East, given the talent they have, I would think of him as a pure lock for the conference. But there’s plenty of quality Power Forwards that you could make a claim for like Larry Nance of Charlotte, Ralph Sampson of Boston, & Sir Charles Barkley of Milwaukee that you could all reasonably give a spot to that are playing in better teams atm that deserve the spot.Mike Lowry wrote: Mon Apr 13, 2026 2:45 am Who's the best player that won't make the All-Star Game?
What is this player offering his team that doesn't translate into All-Star votes?
Do these skills have more or less impact on winning than the stuff that does get the votes?

Mike Gminski. What's the saying about "the best ability is availability?" He's been dealing with injuries all season and so hasn't been able to move the needle for the Knicks' squad. When healthy, he offers exceptional defense - something that traditionally has not translated into All-Star votes nearly as well as gaudy offensive numbers - but as a Center, he's stuck trying to pass up Hakeem Olajuwon and James Donaldson for a spot. Gminski has better offensive numbers than James, but has played in only about half as many games. The voters aren't going to reward him for that. Also, he's out for the ASG with a dislocated shoulder anyway. Finally, Gminski seems to have been stuck playing out of position at SF all season anyway so even if he had been playing, he'd be stuck competing with the likes of Charles Barkley, Eddie A. Johnson, Jeff Malone, and Magic Johnson for a spot. If I were the Knicks, I'd try to move Cartwright - even at a discount - for a guy that can play the 3 so Gminski can slide back to Center, where he can impact the game the most - when he returns from injury.Mike Lowry wrote: Mon Apr 13, 2026 2:45 am Who's the best player that won't make the All-Star Game?

Poor Wilkins has been ignored by the ASG pickers for years.IamQuailman wrote:Who's the best player that won't make the All-Star Game?
Dominique Wilkins

For starters... well i guess not for starters since he's a bench bro. Dominique is averaging 23ppg, 6rpg, 2apg, 2spg all off the bench. Career high 3p%, 2nd fewest FTA of his career (aka he's going to WORK for his points, no freebies for him). But the issue is that he's coming off the bench, and all-star players tend to be starters. I'm not sure if an ASG in the program would allow for a bench player to be an all-star, but it's a curious thing I am testing. It's rare you have this level of output from someone not in the starting 5.

I kinda addressed this already, but I think his role is very situation-specific to the team. I think he could easily start for at LEAST a dozen plus teams out there. The thing is we just have a glut and a fit at the position he plays at.
