Which 1st round matchup is most exciting?
Rockets/Jazz

Who will win the series?
Rockets in 7

How will they get it done?
Their frontcourt will bully the Jazz all series. I'd actually move Bird to SF and let McDowell offer some additional defense in the paint to try and contain Otis Thorpe.

Which players will have outstanding performances?
Patrick Ewing and Larry Bird will dominate this series. I think Ainge will also have a good series because I like his matchup against Vern Fleming.

I think the Pistons - Nets is going to be a slugfest!
These are two of the most talented and complete teams in the league top to bottom.
We all know Fat Lever is made of glass, but when he can stay on the floor he takes the Nets to another level.
Ironically, the Pistons come into this matchup without their best wing player in Alvin Robertson.
He is as big of a loss as most any in the league, I mean it's not losing Jordan or Hakeem, but he is the most impactful player on a very good Pistons team.
Good thing for them is they have strength in depth.
,I just don't like how he matches up against Kellogg or Ellis and that matchup decides the series for me.
I like the Nets in 6.
I think Ellis will put up a few thirty point games, and Larry Nance will put up numbers on the other end, but it won't be enough.

For me the most exciting series is the Hawks vs. the 76ers - these are teams that haven't been to the playoffs before and that pushed their chips into the center of the table this season to compete. The series itself is probably going to be more competitive than the records indicate; the Hawks are clearly the better team by record - but I'm excited to see Ryan and Gary in the playoffs and I think there are some interesting matchups here. Reggie Theus gives Kevin McHale his best running mate to date but Gary's frontcourt of Joe Barry Carroll and Moses Malone can give McHale issues and Kiki Vandeweghe might be able to offset Theus. I think the difference winds up LaSalle Thompson's interior defense turning away the 76ers bigs just enough.

Which 1st round matchup is most exciting?
I'm actually interested in the Hawks/76ers matchup. Two GMs who made the playoffs for the first time in the NPBSL. Will be fun to see who comes out on top.

Who will win the series?
I gotta go with the Hawks taking care of business

How will they get it done?
This series features the #2 offense vs the #1 defense. So which will prevail? I think the Hawks have what it takes to slow down this 76ers team. 76ers are prone to turning the ball over and the Hawks are good at forcing turnovers. I think the 76ers will have a hard to time scoring against the hawks. With that, the Hawks also have a great offense while the 76ers have one of the worst defenses. I don't think the 76ers have what it takes to slow anybody down, as evidenced by their defensive ranking this season. Hawks win in 5.

Which players will have outstanding performances?
You already know the playoffs are where Kevin McHale really shines so look for him to have another incredible playoff run and hopefully get to face his former team to show them what they are missing.

Which 1st round matchup is most exciting?
I think the Hawks-Sixers matchup could be fun. It's an interesting diffusion of talent across both starting lineups. McHale vs Jon Berry Carroll, former championship teammates now facing off adds a little excitement to the mix. I think another matchup could be the Nets-Pistons.

Who will win the series? How will they get it done? Which players will have outstanding performances?
Ultimately, while it would be fun to see the Sixers win a series after going all in, I think the Hawks will win this series. Theus & McHale will just be too much to overcome. As for the Nets-Pistons... I think this could be a 7-game coin flip series. Pistons have been dominant but the Nets have the talent to win in an upset series. The Nets would love to see Dale Ellis & Fat Lever take over. Terry Cummings will absolutely cause problems though for the Nets. It's really a matter of who hits that final shot.
