What kind of movement do you expect in the playoff standings over the last month of the season?
Why will teams climb or fall?
Will the difference in matchups matter when it comes to playoff series?

Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers, which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.

Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5, 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.

Due: Deadline for Sim 11

Celtics with Moe’s eye problem is going to potentially cause problems. I can see me going from one seed before, to the two seed now. Especially with how my schedule shakes out so away heavy to end the season (and every season for that matter.)

That sucks because I’ll go from getting a bye and having cheeks healthy for my first matchup to now having to face a team in the first round. Which, if it’s the Nets, and they come in on a hot streak, could present a problem.

THIS is Lazy writing!
Division winners, and the byes that reward them are already locked, except maybe the Central.
Mo Cheeks will be healthy by the time the Celtics playoff run begins.
What might get interesting is who they see in the second round.

I think the Nets are a very dangerous team if they can game plan good health.
Based on the strength of remaining schedule, I think they will jump passed the 6ers, even without Fat.
They will have a strong chance against a good but shallow Hawks team in the first round, and will give the Bucks something to think about in the second round if they make it.

In the West it's a tight race to host the Warriors in the first round.
I think the Rockets have the best talent of the teams with the toughest remaining schedule.
The Jazz have the most flexibility and two head up games against the Rockets.
And the Mavs have the easiest path to the three seed. I think they will take care of business and climb the ladder.
The Jazz/Rockets back to back to open the next sim should serve as a playoff preview of sorts.
If I was either GM I would set my DC with that in mind.

Expecting some movement at the bottom of the playoff standings but no major changes at the top.

Why will teams climb or fall?
See the Nets catching the Sixers in the East following Malone's injury. Lever is missing a sim for NJ but he will be back for the homestretch so it should be enough to catch Philly. In the West, the Mavs will jump the Jazz for #4. The order otherwise will stay the same.

Will the difference in matchups matter when it comes to playoff series?
Mavs get homecourt against Utah and that will be enough to win their eventual series. Dont really see much of a difference in the East with the shakeup.

Only real movement I can see in the East happening is the Nets jumping the 76ers for the 5 seed. Pistons and Hawks are doing what they need to do to stay in their spot plus the Bucks are proving again they are the best team so I think seeds 1-4 stay the same. In the West, the Spurs have the #1 seed locked up. And I don't think the Warriors have what it takes to jump the Trailblazers, nor do I see the Trailblazers collapsing here, so that means the 2 seed is essentially locked up. The 3-5 seeds are anybody's game between the Rockets, Mavericks and Jazz. But I see the Rockets staying at #3, they are playing some of the best basketball right now. I think the Mavericks jump the Jazz for the 4 seed since they have mainly home games and the Jazz have mainly away games for the remainder of the season.

Will the difference in matchups matter when it comes to playoff series?
In this scenario, the only difference in matchups really would be the Pistons playing the 76ers instead of the Nets and I think the Pistons take care of the 76ers. I think with the Nets being fully healthy for the playoffs, they could cause some headaches for the other playoff teams

I think 1-4 and 5-6 in the East are all very fluid. Just takes 1 injury to shake up the East, and that can be very annoying for all parties! The Celtics and their LAZY GM should be excited about a round 1 matchup because if the team is as good as they think they are, they could potentially win 16 points for a championship... instead of 15! So whining, sissyboy!

The West is in a similar boat, with the Spurs locked in at #1 and then 2-4 in flux... 5 and 6 are kinda set as well, so maybe we won't see much movement in that area either. Im a little disappointed that the Suns didn't surge after some of their trades. They should be better. And there's still a chance to snag the 6th seed from the Warriors, but I'm not sure greepy is willing to give it up just yet.
