I'm going with Thurl Bailey as a first time All Star.
Since signing with the Kings he really spread his hustle and proved to be a wrecking ball of a foundation.
On the other end of the spotlight, I think this will be the first time we see an All Star game without Reggie Theus.
His numbers are down as a result of being on a team that is more balanced than he is used to, as well as maybe losing a step.
The East is pretty loaded, including on the wing and guard positions.
I think the East will win the All Star game and Magic will be the MVP.

Which stars are in and out?
The point guard position in the West is stacked this year and I think Johnny Moore gets snubbed in favor of John Stockton, Kevin Johnson, and Isiah Thomas.

Who is someone you expect to make the all star game for the first time?
Bailey was a good answer so I'll move East and go with LaSalle Thompson. The TC boost has elevated his game to be in the upper echelon of bigs in the league and is one of the main catalysts for the Hawks resurgence this season.

Who been an all star before that won't be selected this season?
Johnny Moore - too many talented point guards this season so he will be the odd man out.

Who wins the all star game?
West - even with Magic leaving there is just too much talent.

Who will be MVP?
Patrick Ewing

I haven't been paying attention to the exact composition of guys in the all-star game year-over-year (I pay more attention to All-League Teams since that restricts training), but I do think there are a couple of guys that we've been used to seeing in the All-Star Game whose time has probably passed now.

Calvin Natt comes to mind; he's had 7 all-star appearances in 7 seasons, but this is the season I think his streak comes to an end - he's still scoring 20 ppg, but he's a bench player now. Moses Malone is another; he actually missed the All-Star Game last year but I think in all our minds he's still a dominant force... and he's averaging just 16.5 ppg and 7.1 rpg this year... those aren't all-star numbers.

The one young guy I think will shock a lot of people by making the all-star game is Thurl Bailey of the Kings (yes, he's a former Blazer). Chad has been featuring Thurl on his team, and Thurl is averaging 27.5 ppg, 9.9 rpg, and 3.5 bpg. Those aren't quite Ewing numbers, so Thurl isn't going to start, but find me another center (besides Ewing) averaging close to that. I'll wait.

While you would think "Who Wins" is easy (the West has Jordan, Clyde, and Magic), the truth is that the All-Star Game for whatever reason actually tends to see bench players get more minutes than the starters, and because of that, I think the East wins. The West has better starters, but I think the East has the better bench, and since the benches play... the East wins. As to who will win MVP, I'll keep Chad's interest in this response by guessing "Reggie Theus."

Am I crazy to say that Dominique Wilkins doesn't make the All Star game? He is averaging 21 points per game but he seems to have taken a backseat since joining the Celtics.

Who is someone you expect to make the all star game for the first time?
James Donaldson seems worthy of making the All Star game. He's currently averaging a double double at 24+ points and 10+ rebounds per game

Who been an all star before that won't be selected this season?
As stated earlier, Dominique Wilkins might be on the outside looking in. His stats just don't really jump off at anyone. 21ppg is fine but if that's all he has going for him then I'm not sure he makes the cut this season

Who wins the all star game?
I think the East take it this season. The West has some elite players but the East has definitely gotten better this season.

Who will be MVP?
Hakeem Olajuwon.

Which stars are in and out?
The usual suspects will be in, although I'm curious to see if Barkley gets snubbed. It's possible. Now with Magic being sent over to the East, it can absolutely shake up the All-Star make up of the conference.

Who is someone you expect to make the all star game for the first time?
Thurl Bailey is a no brainer for the West. The dude is absolutely balling with the Kings, being the focal point of their offense. With how shitty the season has been for them, he's been one of the biggest bright spots for their team. Much deserved All-Star nod.

Who been an all star before that won't be selected this season?
Terry Cummings, former All-Star, will continue to be left off the All-Star roster despite T-Bone's infatuation with him. Forward is such a cluster of a position in this league, especially in the East, and Magic entering the fold all but sealed his fate.

Who wins the all star game?
The East will dominate top to bottom. Magic out, West ded.

Who will be MVP?
Michael Jordan will be the MVP, because he will have to lift the carcass of the West up. TOo many mouths to feed on the Eastern front, but West is in absolute shambles.
