Milwaukee Bucks CHAMPIONSHIP Presser

Post by IamQuailman »

Good morning, everyone!

The CHAMPS are here! What an incredible run the playoffs brought us. Plenty of thrills and sweats... and the emergence of a superstar in the name of Big "DOCK" Rivers. Shout out to the Lakers for literally leaving it all out there on the court. They pushed us to our limits and brought out the best in us. While maybe they can get theirs one day, it hopefully will never come at the expense of Milwaukee.

But that's all in the past. The off-season brings us new challenges and opportunities. While our team was built to probably run it back for 2-3 more seasons, we opted to get back out the tax when an opportunity presented itself to us. With Benoit Benjamin having a great rookie season, JBC (while a crucial piece of our championship equation) became expendable. We took that opportunity to move back into the draft and buy a true THREAT from the shooting guard in Jeff Hornacek. Hornacek has a very interesting build in that he can beat you from all 3 levels of offense. We are very excited to pair him with Doc & Kevin. However, with the luxury of depth at shooting guard, we opted to get a little younger by moving Lewis Lloyd for Gerald Wilkins. This gives us some versatility & size.

Note to the league: this is NOT a rebuild. It's a retool. Part of that retool was picking up versatile wing Peter Verhoeven, who's build sorta mirrors that of Terry Tyler. And a team can NEVER have too many of those. This also allows us to go small with Peter and Terry both starting and McHale at Center. Lots of options are now available to us. We'll be sure to try it out at some point.

It's time to run it back with some new toys and try to win this whole damn thing again.
