What advice would you give their GM?

Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers, which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.

Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5, 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.

Due: Deadline for sim 8

Who is in really bad shape?
My Supersonics are in really bad shape. Thought we were gonna have another competitive season and we were just the opposite. Then we tried trading for our 1st round pick back but those greedy New York bastards who shall remain nameless just wouldn't give it back to us. So now we have to hope that the Celtics don't turn it around this season so we can hopefully get lucky in the lottery

Which rebuild is going in the wrong direction?
76ers. They've just stayed at the bottom of the league forever and even though they've gotten a lot of great young talent, they still just haven't done anything with them. All this team really needs is just a little bit of motivation from their GM and they could end up being a playoff contender.

What advice would you give their GM?
Just be active. Set your lineups, make some trades and the rest should fall into place. Mullins, Humphries, and Sundvold are great starting pieces to build your team up. They don't have to be the long term solution but they should be able to make a rebuild fairly easy for them

Who is in really bad shape?
Really bad is probably an exaggeration but the Cleveland Cavaliers are sitting on too much talent to be in the lottery. If they do not check in today they will also be in the luxury tax, which just adds insult to injury. It might be time to at least kick the tires on trading some of their win-now talent before the league moves on and they are left holding the bag.

Which rebuild is going in the wrong direction?
The Dallas Mavericks dont really have a direction right now and I think it has been too long now for that to still be an issue. I'd consider my team to probably be one step behind the Cavs in that I may be playing the classic game of holding both win-now and win-later talent and not picking a lane so the squad stays mid. Laimbeer, the Davis bros, and Johnson are not getting any younger so it might be time to sell and rebuild around Bowie/Webb.

What advice would you give their GM?
Take the offseason and see how much value there is left for the veterans on the squad. And then decide to compete or tear-down. The status quo is not working.

I'm going to go with the Seattle Supersonics. They were building a team around a great young scorer and established a really good defense and blew it all up. They got an often talked about piece in Ralph Sampson, but he has not proven to be a winner. He has some players in different stages of their careers. In my opinion, he should have kept 'Nique and traded all other players to try to build around him and his youth. What advice I could give them is hope the Celtics lose a lot this year. They are gifting an already talented team of the Knicks a top lottery pick. They should sell of any and all players for future picks and hope they hit a top lottery in the future.

I would agree that the Cavs and Mavs both need to give up on their attempts with their current stars. I don't know if it boiled down to a lack of cohesion, or depth, or what, but they both have great talent, and it's just not working for them.I think this was a good season for both of them to sell off for the assets that were collected by the Kings, Sonics, and Blazers. I guess the Rockets are the next team that might fall in that position followed by the Hawks. My advice would be to not miss the market when you have the best products.
I also see an issue for some up and coming teams that haven't gelled yet. The Spurs and Nets, look to have the teams of the future, but the tax is fast approaching. I think they should be moving their non essential pieces to find the right complimentary players to win a ship. There's really no excuse for teams that loaded to have a record 4 games above .500. Either the pieces don't fit, or you ain't using them right, and that might be a strategy, but FA ain't gonna allow that luxury too much longer. The Spurs are performing better, but that clock is ticking.

Man, I gotta go with the Cavs and the Sonics (sorry Dave). Cavs just keep riding this dead horse into the ground. Literally, there are no more wheels. It's time to sell off. But unfortunately, for better or for worse, the Cavs GM plays to the beat of his own drum, which you can at least respect. But that drum is the imperial death march and vader is force choking that team. Sonics had the worst time to burn things down. They didn't have their pick, and the Knicks GM is an asshole to negotiate with when he knows your team might be cheeks and he has your pick (I DIDNT FORGET WHEN I TRIED MY "REBUILD"... In fact, Garrett, you withholding that pick sent me down the path I'm currently on... thank you). Dave made the best move he could make by trying to get the most out of his best asset and tried to get better a little short term to worsen his pick... but it just didn't work out. West is too deep. The tear down continues this offseason, but at least he has a probable top-10 pick to add to his team.

My advice though... lean into the rebuild. Let it come and DON'T RUSH BACK INTO IT
