Season 5 Coach of the Year

Post by AngryBanana »

This will differ from GM of the Year.

My thought is GM will focus on the personnel moves made throughout the season and building a roster.

Coach will focus on how the GM coached the team. This means how the gameplan and minutes made by the GM helped alter the performance of the team compared to how people expected them to perform this year.

Anybody who submits a nomination can claim 1 point (excluding self-nominations).

The max points allowed to receive for submitting a season 3 award is 1 point, even if you submit nominations in other categories

Winning nomination gets an additional point awarded for the win.

Nominations are due by September 5th at 4pm central.

I want to give Coach of the Year to @JNR because he's been battling Reggie Theus (and then some) injuries all season, looking like his team was gonna fall by the wayside again. But he rallied his troops and has them in the position to grab the last spot in the West for a playoff spot DESPITE all of the debilitating injuries. Shout out to that team for really figuring out how to keep things afloat while the captain was anchored to the infirmary.

My nomination here is @greepleairport . He traded away his superstar with a focus on resetting for a top pick. He has managed to maintain a playoff team with focus on Robert Parish as his star. He has 5 other players in double digit scoring which is showing he is gameplanning to stay relevant. His coaching has kept his team afloat despite having less talent on the court.

My nomination for coach of the year is Mike Lowry . It’s always tough to win your division, but to get to the finals last season and then come right back to being a contender the following season while locking up the division is extremely tough to do in this league. All the while still making roster moves to improve their team
