What is the most surprising or interesting stat that came out of the 1st sim?
The 10-0 Bucks are #2 in both Points scored and points allowed, but are 9th in FG% and Effective FG%. They're also 5th in Offensive Efficiency, 1st in Offensive Rebounds, and 1st/4th in Field Goal Attempts/Field Goals Made, meaning that they miss a lot of shots and rely on second-chance points. However, they're 1st in Blocks, Rebounds, Rebound%, Block%, and Defensive Efficiency. This team is a defensive juggernaut that completely controls the post, which makes up for their good-but-sloppy offense. If this holds, you won't be able to find much useful data against them in head-to-head regular-season matchups, as these stats are a bonafide recipe for regular-season success. Playoff hopefuls should start analyzing broad counters now, rather than looking at specific games.

The only team that I legit can't find an explanation for their start is the Detroit Pistons. Their rotation looks fine, and their schedule was tough but not overwhelming. I don't think English's fall-off to a "mere" 20ppg scorer and Richardson's transition to a pure passer (who - if he's going to play that role - is worryingly averaging a little less than he did last season) is enough to make the Pistons "mid" instead of the solid "good" that they were last season, but I guess we'll see over the next few sims.

Cliff Robinson going nuclear with basically 38 PPG. I think everyone thought that the Kellogg/Robinson trade was a pretty fair deal at the time, but now it looks like highway robbery. On the surface, I'm not quite sure what's enabling Cliff to dominate like this. His athleticism is great but not elite, and it's the same story with his 88 INS and 67 JPS. Barkley and Harper's scoring numbers are both up (...admittedly debatable in Harper's case) and Thompson's putting in 22 himself, so it's not like Cliff is in business for himself, he's just been that damn good. 10 RPG is just icing on the cake. If he keeps this up, MIP honors are a given.

I don't think this offensive explosion will continue. Right now we have 7 30+ PPG scorers, which is the most we've had since the 1982-83 season. While it was common to see a ton of dominant individual scorers in the early days (9, 8, and 9 over the first three seasons), the influx of talent over the past two seasons has led to stingier defense and more ball-sharing across the board (only 3 30+ PPG scorers both seasons). While I don't think it'll get down to that level (4-5 seems reasonable), I doubt that it'll stay at 7 or grow.
