Warriors S6 Presser: No Time for BS

Post by greepleairport »

Look, I got a crazy tax bill coming and a baby, too. I ain’t got any time for BS.

I put together a good team, maybe not a great team, but a good enough team to give some problems.

I got Lister blocking shit, I got Chambers scoring shit, I got Parish backing them up and shit, we’re solid on the front court like we always are.

The rest of my team? They’re fine. Kenny Carr came back on a three year deal, grabbing boards n shit. Added Sly Williams, he’s pretty good. We still got John Long who we feel chronically underperformed last year, but we expect good things from him this year. And then we got Allen Leavell and John Bagley. Is Bagley ready for a starting role, or is it still Leavell’s? That’s our biggest question going in to the sim season.

But, really everyone, what we’re most excited about this upcoming season is retiring the media coordinator crown. Will we ever don it again? I dunno, perhaps. If I’m feeling bored in a few months and Wig is still counting words then yeah, I may take it back up, because Wig does enough for this league already. But it’s truly nice to write a presser without the stress of thinking about how many of these I HAVE to read and evaluate. After so many real life years of doing that, it’s nice to take a break.

Anyway, back to the team. I like my team. Everyone besides Lister and Chambers is up for negotiation, though. Yes, Parish is still available, but no, I still feel no need to GIVE him away, so come with a decent offer. Young prospect, possible salary cutting move, etc.

And of course, if you think you have a tantalizing enough offer for me to pivot off of Lister or Chambers? Give me a holler. Ya never know!

Who’s got some questions??
Somehow I manage.

Glad you're excited about life after media coordination.
You did a great job serving the league, and I highly appreciate your service.
Still feel like your'e treading water with this build.
Are you really going to ride out Parish until he grinds your wheels off?

Is good not great enough to make the playoffs? What would be your team's potential high and lows this season?

Justin Bieber, Teremana.com: Based on preseason results are you planning to make any changes? Who do you think finished with a better record, Cavs or Celtics?

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: As a former media coordinator myself, I want to start out by saying thanks for picking that up and running with it. Secondly, your teams defense appears to be elite according to preseason accounts. Can you say that was your plan coming into this year and will it keep on keeping on?

Lol maybe. He's set up to be a super duper 6th man right now, and I'm okay with that! I love me some Robert Parrish, too bad for everyone else they don't value an all star C. He won't be as 6th man but i'm done trying to prove his value to other people, no one's knocking with reasonable offers anyway. One more year after this year, people, starting caliber, awesome player, tremendous human being.

And thanks, excited to be Dad. And happy to serve the league that has served me so many hours of fun...and heartbreak.

Well, we missed the playoffs by one sim last season. I think our potential high is making the playoffs, and the potential low is missing the playoffs (even missing the playoffs got me Detty boy which became the return of Lister). So I like what we got going on in golden state, whether we hit the highs or stay in the lows. Whatever works for me in S6.
Somehow I manage.

Cavs. Easy. Celtics don't have the great GM jlmarines! The true equalizer 8-)
I'm open to changes but I probably won't have a ton of time to seek them out this season. Anything is possible and I'm open to anything.
Somehow I manage.

Ya know, great question. I definitely expected improved defense with Lister on the squad, but I might be running offense that doesn't make sense if we're more defensively focused now. We'll see how this first sim goes and reevaluate our gameplan from there.

It was very exciting to see our defense is that good though. Offense blows but whatever, we're not an overall elite team right now anyway.
Somehow I manage.
