That should have gone through this committee and still should.TheSyndicate wrote:For media points, I like what I've done this year in removing the 5-pt cap (like conroys piece). Anyone mind removing that here? I like the total media cap, though.

I missed addressing this due to being swamped in house-buying/wedding stuff pretty much every weekend I'm home now, but I agree with what Balls said and Inner's +1. While a change like that doesn't affect the # of points a team can receive via media in a season, any substantial changes (I would consider these changes substantial) to the means of awarding points should be approved/voted on. The same thing happened when Nick tried to up the award total for the pick 'em. I'm not just nitpicking, but I do think it is a change that needs to be fleshed out and approved by the league as a whole.TheSyndicate wrote:For media points, I like what I've done this year in removing the 5-pt cap (like conroys piece). That said, I do like the forward-thinking and pro-activeness you brought with the changes. I don't want to discourage changing things up, especially if it could be for the better. But discussion needs to be part of the process.IamQuailman wrote:I missed addressing this due to being swamped in house-buying/wedding stuff pretty much every weekend I'm home now, but I agree with what Balls said and Inner's +1. You're right. It was a mistake no one suggested this be voted on 3 weeks ago. I'm glad we agree. This doesn't discourage proactive ness, it adds procedure and thoughtfulness to being proactive.TheSyndicate wrote:That's just different than before when the owners of these processes could make changes to their areas as long as they in general didn't add or subtract from the total points awarded. If everything is going to be voted on by the entire league, then do we really need owners?
Also. I made a post, what, 3 weeks ago on the changes, no one suggested it be moved for discussion, in fact no one said anything. I know you say you're not trying to discourage proactiveness, but you are.
That is incorrect. Any time I made any changes to media point awarding, I had to run it by darth. (we didn't really vote back then as a league on what to do). As for needing owners, yes. The purpose of the owner is to handle the area they own throughout the season to make sure the tasks get done (and get point compensation for doing said tasks). But if somewhat substantial changes are to be made to a long standing media point allocation system (of 9 seasons), then it should be voted on.TheSyndicate wrote:That's just different than before when the owners of these processes could make changes to their areas as long as they in general didn't add or subtract from the total points awarded. I'm going to take bump this post right here.IamQuailman wrote:That is incorrect. Any time I made any changes to media point awarding, I had to run it by darth. As for me not catching the change 12 days ago (not 3 weeks), shit's been pretty hectic and to be honest, I forgot about it until Conroy got his pts this week and in this thread. So take this as me suggesting it should be revisited.
