I don't know if we can really do anything to force engagement more than we already do with Pick 'ems and Town Halls. People will make trades, and that will keep them privately engaged until trade deadline. People on the fringes of the playoffs may tinker with DCs. But honestly, I don't know if there's much you can do to force engagement. Although, I will say engagement tends to be at an all-time high on the discord weekly. So if you aren't on the discord server, even passively, I'd recommend joining just to poke around... we've had some old heads pop in just to chat (False9/Andy, Garbageman/Josh, yankeesman/Nick to name a few).. you don't have to check in everyday... and it's nice because the variety of channels allow you to participate in semi-targeted conversations. So I encourage non-Discordians to JOIN USMike Lowry wrote: Sat Aug 16, 2025 11:32 pm Seems like we're approaching the "cruise control" period of the season, where I expect to start seeing a ton of "same" in the DCs around the league.
Is there anything we can do to increase engagement and activity in this stretch?
Or does it boil down to an inevitable period of playing out the games to see who built the best hand?
What would you suggest?

Cruise control does feel like sim league once sim 8 is simmed, and it's not yet the playoffs. I like that acknowledgement.Seems like we're approaching the "cruise control" period of the season, where I expect to start seeing a ton of "same" in the DCs around the league.

There is no real reason for much activity right now. Sim to Sim, teams are either only looking at wins/losses. It's been said already, but there were no real reason to adjust D/Cs because you play so many different people. Right now, everyone is on injury watch. The only thing that happens is playoff seeding and lottery seeding.Mike Lowry wrote: Sat Aug 16, 2025 11:32 pm Seems like we're approaching the "cruise control" period of the season, where I expect to start seeing a ton of "same" in the DCs around the league.

Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers, which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.
Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5, 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.
Due: Due by the deadline for sim 7

Sim Vegas helps with activity, at least for me. Makes me pay attention. That said, it is the slog of the season and not every piece of the season can be the one that is the most exciting. Media and town halls help (so thank you for this one), and I think everyone is chasing them media points, so I dunno. I think it just is what it is!Mike Lowry wrote: Sat Aug 16, 2025 11:32 pm Seems like we're approaching the "cruise control" period of the season, where I expect to start seeing a ton of "same" in the DCs around the league.

Like others have said, there's really not much that can be done. The Town Halls have been great, and the Pick 'Em also helps. Outside of finding ways to expand those concepts, I can't think of much else to do. The period where engagement is needed most is after the deadline, not before, so perhaps any ideas need to be target towards that period. In all seriousness, this has been a rather active season so far. I feel like there's been at least one move to discuss every sim. We're already at the ASG break, and it feels like we just started.Mike Lowry wrote: Sat Aug 16, 2025 11:32 pm Seems like we're approaching the "cruise control" period of the season, where I expect to start seeing a ton of "same" in the DCs around the league.
