Good afternoon everyone,
Going to make this a quick and drama free one. Hog less spotlight.
I will say though, I told ya I was still going to complete. What an amazing run last season, really brought the city together. Like I said though, I feel that last offseason we were in a bit of a spotlight after trading Buck Williams after a season. But we had a vision and I stood up here and promised we would compete. The return we got for Buck gave us the ability to plan for present and future. One of the assets and a bit of cash bought us some time with Mr. Alex English, one of the most talent scorers in our league. Alex was the perfect fit and he, Rickey, and Darrell pushed this city all the way to the ECF. The Alex English experience will be legend here for Knick fans.
We love ya Buck and sorry we had to send you out like that. Again, I bet not a single one of you reading this would of bet the Knicks were going to beat the Bullets in the playoffs after that Buck trade went through. Not a bad year for a new GM.
Thats all I will say about myself and I do think the Knicks will hang under the radar this year. We thanked Mr. English for expert services and had a bittersweet parting with Rickey, but we prepared the pocketbook and now have a load of future assets.
One might even say we quietly had a great offseason. We secured the building blocks to an exciting future. One of the best, young facilitators in the league, Johnny Moore has wanted to be a Knick since he was a boy. He signed the day I met him. We locked Darrell up so they can play in their prime together. David Greenwood continues to make massive leaps each offseason and is poised to be much more featured this year. Trent Tucker also had a stellar offseason. Both pieces, again, that came over in the Buck trade.
All to say, we are going to give this team a year to grow together. Not put any immediate expectations on them. It is now up to the front office to continue to build around this core.
Thanks fa comin, questions?
