Rule Changes Voting

Post by BigDaddyd8720 »

Good afternoon beautiful people,

Below are 5 possible rule changes I would like everyone to vote on. I have given a brief description on topic. If you have any questions about either question please feel free to respond in the thread I will have posted shortly under "Sim League Central". I will give until the start of Free Agency (Monday, 6/2 at 4PM CST) for everyone to get their votes in. I will send a reminder PM in a few days to anyone who doesn't vote early enough but please try to do so quickly so we can update before the Free Agency and Training Camp begins. If you do not vote by the deadline, do not get upset if a rule change goes into affect and you don't like it. The link to vote is at the bottom of the message.

Voting for Rule Changes:

Paid Training Changes:
1. I propose the following rule: Instead of only being able to train TO a certain letter band, you can train THROUGH it. Meaning, if a player is B potential, instead of training until their current letter band reaches the potential letter band (i.e. training until their current reaches 61) you would be able to train up to the potential number. So if a player is in B potential and that potential number is 75, you would be able to train their current until it reaches 75.

2. This is something that was put into effect during the previous regime but wanted to revisit it. It was voted on before about not being allowed to train INTO purple potential. But being that there are so many “new” GMs that weren’t in the league during that vote, and don’t know about the vote, I wanted to bring it back up. So we will vote on whether or not we want to train INTO purple potential. This means if you do a paid training and it puts their potential rating above 151 (purple potential), then that training would be deemed invalid and you would have to rework your paid training. If we take it away, then you can trade INTO purple potential without any consequences. (Previous commish’s vote ended in being allowed to train INTO purple)

3. Being allowed to train athletics in the All Star break paid training. This rule was put into place by the previous commissioner that, again, the “new” GMs were not a part of so they have no way of knowing about it.

4. Being able to train Injury Rating. Would work the same as training foul rating

Injury Restoration:
5. This would only be for Broken Legs. Do we want to allow any chance to restore some, if not all, stats to the previous ratings if a broken leg occurs. It is the only injury that severely affects a player and could potentially change the trajectory of their career. For the time being, we will only vote “yes” or “no” on this. If majority votes “yes” then we will hold a separate vote with multiple ideas on how to go about restoring a player’s ratings after a broken leg. This will likely mean the new rule won’t go into effect this season depending on how long it takes us to come to an agreement on how to handle the restoration.

It's a bummer that we couldn't retro this back to last season for RPF since that was what spurred the rule change discussion. I understand wanting to do it forward, but given then infrequency of the injury and occurrence, losing that guy kinda sucks since he was hte reason this was even being discussed

Well if the rule passes, we can discuss possibly restoring his player. I know it likely changes how his season went but still could be a good thing to do

The beautiful people have spoken!!!!

The results are below:

1. Allow for Paid Training up to a player's potential rating instead of the potential band (for example, if the potential rating is 75, you can train the current up to 75 instead of 61 in this case). Vote PASSES!

2. Allow for training INTO purple potential. DENIED!

3. Allow paid training on Athletics ratings during All-Star Break. Vote PASSES!

4. Allow paid training on Injury Rating (would follow same rules as Foul Rating training). Vote PASSES

5. Allow ratings restoration for Broken Leg. Vote PASSES! (I will come up with a few ideas to vote on how we want to go about restoring the ratings. Once I have those we will then vote on them. If you have any suggestions for it, please message them to me individually and we will see if it makes sense and then add it to the voting list

Maybe not the place to ask, but can we clarify one thing: threshold into the next potential, and where the additional stat costs more.

Old PBSL
60 => 61 = C Band points
61 => 62 = B Band points

What I've gathered from NPBSL thus far but is inconsistent with the note quoted above ("instead of 61"):
59 => 60 = C Band points
60 => 61 = B Band points

Does that make sense? Which should we be following? Like, especially if we're training INTO potentials (booooo, btw), I wanna make sure points are paid correctly if the time to pony up for higher-band-points is earlier than later. Thanks boss
Somehow I manage.

It will still follow the same rules, so if you went to train from 60->61, it costs C Band points then from 61->62 it costs B Band Points.

I already have the formula typed up for these changes and will update the posts either tonight or tomorrow, at the very least before we get to paid training but I want to have this all updated before the weekend
