Town Hall Round 1

Post by Mike Lowry »

Will any first round matchup go at least 6 games?
If not, why do you think such mismatches exist?
If so, which series, why are these organizations evenly matched, who wins?

Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers, which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.

Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5, 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.

Due: Due by the tipoff of Round 1 - Game 1

Yeah I think any of these matchups could go at least six games. The biggest surprise, to me, was the drubbing Denver handed to Dallas. Sure, Denver is a really good home team, but Dallas is not a particularly bad road team, either. Still, when this series heads to Dallas, it will even out at 2-2. I don't see how it doesn't.

I thought Milwaukee might roll on the Nets, but RPF stole one on the road from the team with the biggest midseason acquisition. Chocolate Thunder be rumblin. And T. R. "Who?" Dunn chugged right along with him. Parrish was better, sure, but not good enough, apparently. I think Milwaukee will move on, here, but I do think they're going to sweat a 3-1 lead by RPF after games 3 and 4 in Jersey wrap.

The only apparent mismatch is Portland and LA. The Lakers made the playoffs with a negative point differential, whereas Portland finished the season on a 10 game win streak. Even though LA kept it close in game 2, I don't think LA is good enough at home to win both games and even the series. I wouldn't be surprised if Portland swept here either.
Somehow I manage.
