Portland Trade Block

Post by WigNosy »

Updated after 1986 RFA

NOT TRADING (Can't trade by rule, RFA signings this off-season, don't ask):
  • Lester Conner
  • Quintin Dailey
  • James Worthy
AVAILABLE:
  • Thurl Bailey - Part of my "bigs of the future" group - I could be persuaded to move him for better-fitting young bigs and/or picks, though.
  • Jon Koncak - Blue-potential big entering year 2 of a rookie-scale deal. Lots of time for him to develop
  • Sedale Threatt - Solid perimeter defender on a rookie-scale contract.
  • Jeff Lamp - Veteran combo guard on an inexpensive contract. Not going to make mistakes, in his prime.
  • Randy Breuer - Solid big on a rookie-scale deal.
  • John Salley - Solid big on a rookie-scale deal.
  • Frank Brickowski - Solid big on a rookie-scale deal (sensing a pattern?)
  • Mike Brown - Defensive specialist on a rookie-scale deal.
  • Orlando Woolridge - One-dimensional offensive threat, but cheap.
AVAILABLE DAY 60 (Can't trade him sooner as he was an off-season acquisition):
  • Alex English - High-grade scorer, not really part of my plans due to age. Will be relatively easy to get.
NOT REALLY LOOKING TO MOVE (but everyone is always available if the price is right and the rules allow):
  • Roy Tarpley - Part of my "bigs of the future" group
  • Kelly Tripucka - Finals MVP in 1985. I expect him to round back into form this season following a TC hit (he was insured) that made him take a step back last season.
SEEKING:
  • Starting Center with excellent rebounding skills
  • Starting wing defender (both post and perimeter) - offense not required, but a plus.
  • Pass-first backup point guard
  • Future assets to help me get the above (i.e., picks and points)
I'm a little frontcourt heavy at the moment and wouldn't mind trading one or two rookie-scale contract bigs to fill some other holes.
