1980 Cavs Preseason Presser

Welcome to the Cavs Preseason Presser. We are pleased to welcome the league's favorite GM.

GM jlmarines: Cleveland is excited to be part of this new league. It's very obvious there was favoritism, collusion, and back-stabbing deals on the previous league. Just when PG El Chapo Guzman and SF Vassell were about to break records, an earthquake strike the entire nation and the Cleveland Cavaliers season was cancelled. Very suspicious.

GM jlmarines: The good news it's 1980, and America's team is back. Speed is Cavaliers DNA. During the creation draft we drafted PG Sidney Moncrief and SG Jim Paxson as our first two picks. SG Paxson has a fearless style and willing to put his body on the line and initiate contact in order to make plays. PG Moncrief has great defensive upside with his long arms and great ability to move laterally, and score points.

GM jlmarines: Our next order of business was drafting nasty dawgs that are not afraid to fight for rebounds. We drafted C Rick Mahorn and SF Kenny Carr. C Mahorn is a hustler who plays with determination, grittiness, and willingness to sacrifice himself. C Mahorn is ready to die for the Cavs. But don't forget about SF Carr. SF Carr is locked in on the ball, willing to go get it, and there’s not a whole lot anybody can do about it.

GM jlmarines: Our bench players have athletic abilities and the tools to finish plays and defend their position. We believe our bench players will be a major advantage as a team.

GM jlmarines: I do want to take this moment to thank everyone, all of our staff, our loyal fans, and especially other GMs who have underestimated the Cavs movement. We love being underdogs! We expect the Cavs to be a much better dynasty on this new creation league. We look forward beating K100 and AB again.

GM jlmarines: Here's are starting 5 for the current moment:

C: Rick Mahorn
PF: Joe Meriweather
SF: Kenny Carr
SG: Jim Paxson
PG: Sidney Moncrief

Sidney Moncrief is an exciting young guard, what made you circle on him with the 8th overall pick?

Based on the last league experience, I came to the conclusion that having an elite PG is the best way to start a new team. Moncrief is young and already has 4 As on his attributes. It was a very easy decision. He was available and I wasn't going to pass up this great opportunity. Thank you for the great question.

No matter how hard I try to avoid those losers, they sure know how to find me. Unfortunately, we have reconnected. But this time, trades will be much more difficult. Thank you for the question.
