Welcome to the Pistons presser for 1980. I hope the greatness of the 70s, from the music to the style, can continue. One thing that hasn't been as great is the Pistons but new decade means new attitude. It's been a while since we've been in contention but I feel like with this team we're going in the right direction. With Marques Johnson leading the charge, we can score with anyone else. Then you have Dan "Rebound" Roundfield to clean up the glass real nice.

We're gonna play tough and we're not gonna back down from anybody. We're gonna show everyone the true grit of the Detroit people we play for. We may be a few seasons out but we're coming for that title and we'll take it any way we need to.

Sith Villian here with the Tatooine Tabloids (Who suspiciously looks like Jedihero with a bad mustache on): You were the only team to beat Denver in the preseason with a great showing of 134 points at home, but then went on to have a disappointing preseason barely scoring over 100 in most other games. What is your teams identity looking like, do you think you will keep putting up the numbers like you did against Denver or be struggling all season with your shooters?

Appreciate the question. Preseason we were able to try a few different plays and looks. No one wants to get beat or perform below their own expectations, but we used preseason as a learning tool. Our team is gonna play physical and work on becoming a defensive powerhouse. I wouldn't put my stock into the preseason. We've got plenty of scorers on the team and when it comes time to perform; I believe they'll follow through.

Our expectations is what I would think everyone's is: to win it all. We've struggled the last few seasons but we're ready to bring a winning culture to Detroit. We also expect our guys to learn to play for each other and with each other to develop a chemistry that will sustain multiple winning seasons.

Right now I think our biggest need is just time. Time to play together and learn everyone's styles to develop a good team chemistry. I see no reason to go after any one player or position at the moment. We'll continue to evaluate the team's needs as the season progresses and address it like we always do through the draft.

Our mindset is that everyone is our rival. We will play every game with the determination and tenacity as the one before it and the one after it. If the Knicks want to consider us a rival, so be it. They should just know that it's not enough to come up to bat, man. They're gonna have to swing too.

Jimmy Stiffstick, Lifetime: Have you ever considered what it would be like to be a dolphin, and if so, why?

I've always had a soft spot for those majestic creatures. I even studied a little dolphin in my spare time. Might be a little rusty but "Eeee, eek eeek eeee" Hahah, I've definitely considered it. Who wouldn't wanna live underwater eating fish all day? If you know any mad scientists, send them my way.

Is it playoffs or bust for your team?

No. I think not making playoffs would be extremely disappointing for the expectations we've given ourselves but missing playoffs would just mean a reevaluation of the team. That could be something as simple as rotations or strategy. We have no intention of any sorta rebuild or anything like that though. These are our guys and we intend to win with them.
