Leave of Absence

Hello my fellow GMs. I am going to be taking a leave of Absence kinda….

The last few seasons have gone very swiftly. I have not given myself any breaks during the off-season. Well this works out perfectly and I am cashing in on those breaks. If we continue our normal pacing more specially, playoff pacing. The regular season should end next Friday Nov 1st. The playoffs should then run for 2 weeks with the finals ending on Friday Nov 15th.
We will again, jump right into the off-season starting on Monday Nov 18th which will run for 2 weeks into Black Friday. Now this week is a little problematic because Thursday (Thanksgiving) would be the anticipated training camp sim. I will be packing (more details to come shortly) and doing nothing that day so I have no issue doing TC. Everyone has to be willing and okay to get their list in Tues/Wed of that week especially if you know you'll be busy for Thanksgiving. We can post the TC thread early. Usually by the end of UFA 2 most folks have their list for TC already known. I will run TC Thanksgiving day or night and then Friday will be Free Agency FFA. That will then start my leave of absence and a pause to the league as that Friday Nov 29th, I will be flying to London for a long vacation. I am spending a few days in London before traveling to Southampton, UK where I will hop on a cruise ship slated to cross the Atlantic (Queue the Titanic music) but not before stopping in Spain, Portugal, and Azores. The ship will then dock in Miami on Sunday Dec 15th. I will take a 1 way rental from Miami and land back In Tampa where I will have a ton of laundry to do haha. Sim 1 week 1 will start on Dec 16th. I am hoping to get a very nice reset on this trip. Gonna be a lot of sweats/joggers, with hoodies and alcohol on this cruise. Yes I have the drink package. The cruise is 12 days with 6 days at sea(pray for me). I think the break will do wonders for my sanity in running the league and allow me to come back refreshed overall.

I truly appreciate you all and I am looking forward to continuing to run the league into 2025. If there are any objections, feel free to post them. But I'm pretty confident on this schedule and acknowledging I need the break. For non playoff teams, it definitely puts you all into a longer break from daily sims. But you'll still have an immediate off-season for some stimulation before I take vacation.

Lastly, I feel like I have a couple friendships that I may have scarred. I have to be better about managing the stress of this league and letting it get to me in a personal sense. The game should be fun, and for me it has become work and no fun. I have to find a way for it to be both. Vodka Crans and open waters should help that. Along with 0 sim interaction for 2 weeks.

Voted down on what? An 8 man vote that wasn't made public? I didn't even know it was up until I made the rule voting things on Sunday evening. Less than 33% of the league voted on this. Why was it even made something to vote on? The guy who hit copy and paste on the same message got more votes in favor of getting points than me btw. If you needed any indicator of how much of a joke this process was. Just weird but you do you. I'm pretty much over it at this point
