Silence befalls the room as the Nuggets S71 Preseason Presser is about to start, and honestly no one know how this is going to go. This guy is really all over the place.
DJ: *has Jock Jams Are You Ready for This queued up.
The DJ gets handed a slip of paper from an assistant.
DJ unqueues Jock Jams and starts playing “Everybody Hurts” by R.E.M.
Jedihero waits a minute, and then slowly and sadly walks to the stage to take his place behind the podium. He then gives the kill sign to the DJ to stop the music.
Jedihero….*Big Sigh*….” Hello. Welcome to the press conference. There’s a lot of things that need to be said so lets just get right into it.”
“First off, I want to say what a pleasure it has been coaching this group of guys for the lasts couple seasons. I came into a team that was on the fence and I really pushed it over. Signed a couple really good players, made some trades, got some contract extensions done, but unfortunately, we were never able to make it all the way. We got SO close, but it just wasn’t enough.”
“This is the end of an era for this team. We had a few great years of being one of the best teams in this league. Back-to-back finals appearances is nothing to scoff at, even if we did get swept both years. Now this time has come to a close and we need to start working on how to get a reset on this team and get back to where we want to be.”
“We had to let our shining star Amos go to another team that will be able to use his amazing talents. We also gave Kofi to an up-and-coming team, worst of all is that I can’t make coffee related jokes at practice anymore. We wish them both the best of luck this season.”
“Training camp was rough this season. I think the team feels the change on the wind, and with the lack of these bright stars in the locker room everyone seemed to lose focus and didn’t have their heart into it. Andrew Patrick really took it the toughest I think and lost a lot of his skills. Something hopefully, he can get back in the future.”
“Outlook for this year. We have a ragtag bunch of guys, and we will see what the season gives us this year and decide if we want to try and push for one last playoff run or just coast the whole year and look at getting some new young talent.”
“Last but not least, I appreciate everyone’s support the last few years, but we will need it even more in the coming seasons. We might be quiet for a little while, but I guarantee you, we will be back. Mark my words, We. Will. Be. Back. Jedihero OUT”
Congrats on a great run the past few seasons. Do you think you will try to trade off the remaining contracts of Patrick and Ford to speed up the rebuild or just take your time?

I am very open to trading everyone away. We sent notices at the end of the season that we were having a firesale. We had a couple bites and got some contracts off our books already, but maybe when we get closer to the trade deadline we can try and find someone who might be trying to push and can make some deals.
First, we would like to applaud you on your success so far as GM. It’s not easy to make the playoffs, let alone the finals.
Second, now that you’re contemplating rebuild, have you had time to think about how you might attack it? Whether that be just a slow and steady rebuild or try to trade for players who can speed it up?

Great question, I'm mostly looking forward to that 1 guy, who i go after in the draft, get a good name on them, train up a bit, and hopefully gets all the way to the purple pot and can just be my anchor for many sim years.

Gotta see what the league gives me. I'll try to start with young talent but if there's some good guys available and I have the space, I don't see a reason not to go for it. For now though itll be banking up my points and early picks to allow me some training and getting ready for a couple years of taxes cause that SUCKED.

Do you think Patrick is still a viable part of your roster after the horrendous TC?

No doubt about it. He got rocked. My analytics team did some research and in the categories that really matter for his position he only lost a little bit, so I still think he can perform at the same level that he has been throughout the past few seasons. Also, he has too because I don't have anyone else.
