Miami Mayhem

Post by Mike Lowry »

Did anyone see who maimed Hershal Gilmore?
My boy Greeple said he was a bum, but I had No Idea it could look that bad.
Second year in a row that we felt good about someone going into camp and came out with mud on our faces.
No problem though, cap situation is decent, and we're patiently building, so I'll let him stick around until he hangs himself.
Overall, we're a year older, which translated to a lot of strength, and some depth that I like.
Johnny Davis will lead the way, but expect a big season from Amidah Brimah.
That guy is a stud!
Expectations aren't too high, but I imagine we can compete.
Our starting 5 will be:

Brimah
Claytor
Miller
Davis
Forbes

and we'll play to our strengths.

You have never been shy about pulling the trigger on big trades over the past few seasons but do you feel like you are in a position now to slow down or are you already looking at the trade blocks for the next blockbuster?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: 2062 looks to be the season where some prohibitively expensive current contracts come off the books. What's the plan until then, and how do you execute it without jeopardizing the flexibility you'll gain in that season?

Sorry about Hershal Gilmore, dude. I wish that kinda TC fate on no one, except the Spurs.

So I threw a lot of mud out there in my UFA article, and I didn't realize all of it would land in Miami. FIrst of all, I apologize. Secondly, you have 4 forward prospects on your roster. Besides Brimah, who else do you see as critical to Miami's future?
Somehow I manage.

I've said it before, I probably don't have the patience to raise a competitor from farm to table. I'm always eager to make moves that improve my future.
So far that has led to acquiring a bunch of assets that I can see growing into all stars or organizational cornerstones.
Had to let a bunch go because of my tax situation, but now I'm starting to have more than I would like to hold onto.
I've certainly been in some DM's about the blockbuster.
Hopefully it comes through soon.
And thanks for showing up to my presser even though you left me on read about trading. 8-)

I think I always do a poor job of following suit on the success of the predecessors.
Ideally, I would be able to make a move like Pauly or Mamba did this offseason and grab some win now players and compliment them with a few remaining support pieces.
Above all, I just want to avoid the tax next season so I can support inflation when my books come clean.

First, no sweat at all.
I always love your open assessment of any player, especially one that you had and didn't work out for you.
That dude is a hoe! That's all there is to it.
I think Fred Claytor is a monster!
That guy is a man's - man.
He probably eats gravel when people dare him.
Wold was a long shot, but I really like the potential.
He may grow up to be somebody one day.
Guess I'll have to wait patiently to find out.

What do you see from Brimah long term? What would be his best position to best dominate, and how far is he from that?

I like him at Power Forward, but he is very versatile.
He gave me about 6 good camps in a row and still has room to grow.
I have been leaning into his defense, but the offense will get there.
He is a real weapon.
I see the All-Star game in his future.
