S70 Anthony David Most Valuable Player Award

Post by Jedihero »

Anybody who submits a nomination can claim 1 point (excluding self-nominations)

Max is 1 point, even if you submit nominations in other categories

Winning nomination gets an additional point like last season

Submit your nominations by the End of Conference Finals Sim.

LINK YOUR AWARD NOM, if you do not link, the item will still be posted but if it wins - the person that nominated will not get the points.

Going to go with the computer's choice, PeeWee Kirkland. The guy was that good again this year and will probably win Finals MVP. He is the best player in the game ATM.

Charley Quick, Portland Trailblazers http://pbsl.ijbl.net/players/player87.htm

Now that the season has closed, there is no one else on that team worth a damn, and they still closed the season with 37 wins. That's all Charley. The only other decent player on the team left for Chicago at the trade deadline, and it was literally only Quick after that. If 8 team playoffs were reinstated, Quick would have made the playoffs, too.

He led the league in points scored and was less than one rebound shy of winning the rebounding title, too (without looking I'm guessing the rebound king Finch was not on a team with 5 other players averaging around 5 rebounds per game - take one of these players out and Quick is the rebound champ).

You know what to do. Vote Quick for MVP.
Somehow I manage.

Screw your links in this one because, as some already know, I refuse to learn how to do it.

But!

Mac McClung

The Bulls would have been DOA without McClung. As good as Safi and Ingram and Murphy still are, they are no longer elite players due to age/athleticism. McClung carries the load. He averaged 20.2 ppg, 6.6 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game while throwing in 1.4 stls as well. He was tied for the league lead in assists and led the league in 3P%. Only two players had a higher PER than Mac as well, Charley Quick, whose team didn't even make the playoffs, and Lauri Markkanen, who I ain't awarding since PeeWee got there (and vice versa). His unfortunate playoff injury in game 1 of the 2nd round is already proving his value as the Bulls dropped 2 at home to the Nuggets. And in that game he was injured in, Mac had played 20 minutes, scored 15 points, had 4 assists and 5 rebounds, a +/- of +8, and was shooting 70% from the field and 50% from 3.

He matters.

Sion James

May not get the votes but he’s the only player nominated so far that is top 18 in points, assists, rebounds, steals, and minutes. (22.6 pts/game, 7.8 assists/game, 8.6 rebounds/game, 2.3 steals/game, on 38.1 minutes/game)

Sure he may not have put up the best stats overall in any one category but he was better than multiple nominees in multiple categories. It’s a shame the rockets couldn’t get more production out of the rest of the team but Sion showed he was as consistent as they come. He was also All-Defensive First Team

Again, you look at any one individual category and show how someone else was better, but he was better than multiple nominees in 5 major categories. Would not be the wrong choice if you picked him as your MVP
