SEASON 70 - LIVE FROM TORONTO PENNY'S PRESS CONFERENCE

Post by pennpanther1 »

Penny is tired of losing. Penny is tired of missing the playoffs. Penny is ready to win.

After several seasons of waiting it was time to make a move. Boy, did we make moves. Bye Alex Fudge, hello Remy Martin. Sayonara Jizzle James, welcome back Jaden Akins. Kamari Brown has been nothing short of outstanding during his brief time in Toronto and it was time to get him some help. That time is now.

Will any of these moves make a difference? Only time will tell. But one thing is for certain, it was time to strike. Penny wants Toronto to know we are playing to win. If these moves backfire, I won't have any regrets. You cannot win a championship playing scared. My goal is plain and simple. Penny wants to win a championship.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: The Raptors look to be extremely stacked this season, but there's not a traditional starting point guard on the roster. How do you see your lineup working and what kind of identity do the Raptors have without a primary facilitator? Do you trot out Geronimo with a bunch of scorers or let someone else handle the PG position?

Good question. I liked what happened during preseason with Remy Martin running the point guard spot so I'm going to try that for now. I do not want to run Geronimo out there too long because I do not think he can last with the league's best guards. Hell, even our own division has a lot of great point guards so I really need to get creative with my lineups to adjust.

Remy Martin was outscored by Kamari Brown in the preseason, and as PG he got more touches than anyone else. Does this surprise you, or do you expect this pattern to continue throughout the regular season?
Somehow I manage.

Interesting question. I did not notice to be honest, but I'm not surprised. Kamari's best attribute is his athleticism so his efficiency is not really a surprise. I think Brown will continue to lead the team in scoring all season.

Where do you think this team should land in the power rankings?
Do you think you are in position to compete for the Ship?
What advantages does this team have over the competition?

Natalie Nipples, Netflix: How has the team dealt with the news of Netflix producing a heart-wrenching documentary on Steeve Ho You Fat's struggles with Hashimoto encephalopathy, a form of autoimmune encephalitis? Has it divided the locker room or has it rallied the team behind him?

I think Top 7 (Pistons, Nuggets, Bulls, Mavericks, Spurs, and Magic ahead of us)

Yes, I think we can compete but it will be a dogfight. I think we are still missing one more piece.

I think our offense is going to be a problem for teams. I think we can shoot lights out any given night. I just hope our defense is able to match that intensity.

We have rallied behind Steeve Ho You Fat and his family. His hallucinations are unfortunate but we will be his eyes and brain. He is a survivor.
