Pistons Presser from the Air

Post by IamQuailman »

Greetings yall! We are wrapping up our globe-trotting championship parade, as we just finished parading through the streets of Tokyo and Hitachi for the last 10 days. The fans of the Detroit Pistons are world class, certainly better than those asshole fans of the Boston Celtics. It’s great to continue to build and expand our brand awareness and fan base worldwide. We look forward to continuing the growth of the Pistons & the NBA as a whole in Japan and around the world! Except the Celtics… Frye the Celtics.

Anyway, last season was an incredible experience. It was truly a culmination of years of work and patience within the organization paying off. As a GM, I’ve taken a more careful and patient approach to building this roster, which allowed the players to truly grow together on the court and in the lockerroom as a brotherhood. I cannot be more proud of the end result and the success these young men had coming out of all the hard work they put in.

This offseason was not one of rebuilding, retooling… it was one of reassembling the bench. Our starters were in tact. We wanted to return our bench, which provided such an important role for this team over the long stretch of the season. And with free agency we did just that. Mid season acquisition Jason Marotta came back, along with Albert Myers, Michael Truman, & Thomas Bridges. We added Jerry Bryant for some additional offensive output on the wing and drafted Mr. Beanstalk Jeske, who we feel has a lot of fun potential with his incredible size.

This season, we hope to run it back and kick some ass. Especially the asses of the fkn Celtics. Frye those guys.

Congrats on winning another ring. Do you see anything stopping you from repeating as league champs?

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: Given a guy that constantly changes his mind when it comes to players on his team, and evaluating prospects... WHY ARE YOU SO MAD AT THE CELTICS FOR DOING THAT?

Seeing that you have made the playoffs 7 years in a row and finally getting the championship this past year, what do you think was the X factor that brought you all the way? How do you plan to continue this success, or do you feel that was the culmination of your plan and that its time to start fresh again?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Congratulations on winning the S69 PBSL Championship! A lot of teams may be looking to replicate your championship formula of getting and training tall athletic types to purple status and holding onto them until they pay off. If most teams start to play that way, how do you think will be affected?

And a more team-centric question...if there were anti-trust laws that forced you to break up your team, and you could only keep one player, who would it be and why?

If you repeat, which teams would you most like to defeat in your Conference Finals and in the Championship Final?

Sup, champ?! Congrats one winning season 69 (nice). You've taken a more purposed and patient approach to this build. Will you patiently let it run its course? Or will 2 chips be enough for you to blow it all up and start again?
Somehow I manage.

Aside from superstar level talent, I think the biggest X factor was me having patience to let the team grow. I’m known to be trade hungry in my earlier sim life but I let this team marinate and grow together and it has paid dividends. How this season ends will dictate my refresh window

I would probably be unbothered if teams started to play that way. Whether it is refreshing and rebuilding or what, I like to think I have developed a good bit of adaptability in terms of how I team build.

Lauri for sure. hes just everything. He could probably play PG if we needed him to

In the conf finals, I would say Rockets or Lakers. Just because it would be great to put 78 in his place again ;) and the Finals, while it would terrify me, it would be great to rematch Josh/the Bulls and finally beat them in a finals matchup

I absolutely would love to let it run its course but the tax is definitely a concern and we’ll have to be careful with our approach to it going forwad
