Desert here, at some point I'll stop getting up here and telling you all that we expect this big off-season acquisition to propel us behind the second round and into a conference finals, and maybe even a finals appearance. Actually that's exactly what I'm going to do right now, I'm breaking the streak. Did we make big off-season acquisitions? Oh yeah we did. We brought in YOUTH. Benny and A’ja are youth pieces that the suns haven't had since Maxwell Lewis was brought in to sit a few years and learn from the veterans. Well Maxwell Lewis is grown now! And boy is he ready to unleash. What's more fun than using preseason to predict how the regular season will go. Lewis is leading the league in scoring during preseason on……50-90-50 splits. That would be incredible to hold onto for the season. As our only option he will see a ton of volume.
What's our expectation this season? It's to get the ball to Lewis early and often and let him do his thing! Despite his shooting splits and amazing play. The team went 0-6. And we expect much of this to continue into the regular season as we've been thrust into a very competitive division with the defending champs who are even better a year later.
So the expectation is we capitalize on a bad team in a year in which we do have our draft pick and we attempt to be in the lottery for another young piece.
What's next for the suns? Well I thought about pushing the chips into the center and saying “All In” but my older players took some brutal hits in camp. This is likely a good thing as chasing a ring hasn't worked out for me in the trade game. I thought about trading for a couple stars around the league to pair with my decent role players, but those role players are no longer decent. So the next move for the Suns is to wait!
I think we're going to hold off on trades, and actually for once. Let some youth build and grow together. Benny will get the start this season next to Gary and can start learning as much as possible. A’ja will have another redshirt season as she is not ready to contribute yet.
I'm strongly realizing that Benny is the future with Lewis and that, for this to work. I must ask Lewis to be patient and trust the process! That's it! Desert, you need to trust the process and allow your team to grow naturally. There will be a time to stroke but that time isn't now. Build Benny in 1on1 training drills and watch him become the face of the league!
A’ja can be traded for another young big(s) to compliment my team better as we are wing heavy at the moment. This isn't a move we will rush into, but we are open to trade talks.
To recap, Gary,Benny Lewis and Phil will hold down the fort as best they can. Benny is untouchable and the future. A’ja can be traded at any time for a young big(s) or guard(s) but there's no rush on that for me.
To my star Lewis, and to the rest of the league. TRUST THE PROCESS! #TTP
Want to THANK YOU for taking over as Commissioner!
Highly Appreciate your service.
Wanted to know how long of a rebuild you are expecting to put together?
When should we be looking for Benny Bridesmaid to lead a team to a deep playoff run?
With the league re-aligning again this offseason, tell us how you feel about your new division in comparison to your previous one. How do you see it shaking out this season? Any divisional rivalries you're looking forward to exploring or renewing?

The rebuild should be 2 seasons long. This is year 1 of that and next season will be year 2. Benny should start to help us in that 3rd year, begin to make deep playoff runs.

I think we had a year or 2 of a soft rebuild within the division and then it started being competitive. Since taking over the suns I've always been in the tough divisions and this is no different. The conference is loaded based on just our division
Sham Smith, Bulls.com: As the new commissioner, has anything you learned about running the league influenced your approach this season to running the Suns?

I would say maybe the points/tax situation. I worked extremely hard last season and sacrificed a great player in JD. I also did something I've never done and participated in media activity along with articles to ensure I didn't go into a tax hell situation. I didn't want to be one of those teams with their name on the naughty board.
Other than that, I don't really think anything commissioner wise has had an effect on my approach to the season either way. I do think getting a break from the grind will do me some good considering I have to always be in the know with things going on. Not putting full energy in my team will allow me to do my job only, and take a break from running a team.
Justin Bieber, Teremana.com; Also, thank you for being the Commissioner. You are the reason the Cavs will humiliate K100 again. And for that, I appreciate it. You stated you are in a rebuilding mode. How many wins will you considered a successful rebuilding year, if any. Thank you.

Anything over 15 would be an unsuccessful year. So somewhere in the 10 range would be absolutely perfect! I'm not sure if that's possible considering Lewis might win us a few games by himself. But the goal is to get Benny incorporated and build cohesion with he and Lewis. We'll try a few different lineups to accomplish this.

What in particular made the Benny Bridesmaid deal worth it for you?
The salary honestly, I was excited for a younger player and the true wing status. After the trade I looked deeper into Benny and have fallen in love. Very pumped to make him a versatile player that will be used 1-4 in the lineup in the future.
