S69 42PHD Coach of the Year

Post by AngryBanana »

This will differ from GM of the Year. GM will focus on the moves made throughout the season. Coach will focus on how the team performed compared to how they should have (showing that the person gameplanned well and was able to get the most out of his team).

Anybody who submits a nomination can claim 1 point (excluding self-nominations)

Max is 1 point, even if you submit nominations in other categories

Winning nomination gets an additional point like last season

Submit your nomination by the due date and time of sim 12

Coach of the Year is 78#.
I had an OG that used to tell me that Phil Jackson was the greatest basketball coach because he knew how to start Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
Start Sion James and you got action. Cause ain't much else to see in Houston, but they compete.
What cha gonna do

I'll give some love to my guy Xist, which this award could have been named after him anyways. Adding a talent like Amen Thompson helps, but even with him, this is a roster devoid of much else in terms of true playmakers/difference makers. Yet, X continues to put his guys in the right positions and experiments just enough to keep things fresh. Plus, they currently are the 4 seed in Alpha with time to climb higher.

I'm going to nominate Black Superman for Coach of the Year. In a season where everything went wrong injury-wise, he was able to lead the Suns to a guaranteed playoff berth before April. Granted, Omega is a top-heavy division with a lot of dog-trash teams, but the Suns have a solid record for what they've had to deal with. Injuries like they've faced caused them to have to make trades that greatly changed their core, and despite all these changes, they've managed to put out lineups that still find success on the court.

Im going to give my vote to JLMarines. The guy has been great with a very limited roster this season. He started out as a terrible team, but after trading for Larry Williams at the trade deadline, his team has not looked back. He is going to hope the injury to Vassell does not derail his playoff hopes, as I am right on his heels in the division and will not hold back. I also play the Cavs for the last game of the regular season, so maybe that will decide who between us two will go to the playoffs.

Self nominating the Nuggies baby! Made a great trade for Harper before FA, singed Patrick back who is just an all around great big. Had a full season of no injuries, all 5 starters with a 100% start rate, showing he took care of his players and didn't over work them. Navigated a very hard 2 month road trip at the end of the season to (hopefully) hang on to the 3 seed in a division where 6/7 teams are making the playoffs.

I nominate garbageman for COY. Not sure how the potential #1 overall regular season team hasn’t been nominated yet. Bulls have been consistent and took advantage of the late season push to pass the nuggets for the 1 seed in their conference

Going to nominate Doug for this. The Pistons are a top team and with the right adjustments in the playoffs could contend for a Finals appearance.
