Fill Yo Pouch Presser

Post by BigDaddyd8720 »

(whispering) This is two seasons in a row yall have asked for my lunch order right as I'm starting the presser. We have got to be better about this moving forward...... That's fine, but it's Evan's turn to pay..... No I paid last time.... ah crap you're right, here's my card. Just get the red beans and rice bowl, with a side of corn bread.

Ok sorry about that ladies and gentlemen. Had some very important business to take care of but now we are ready to get the #FillYoPouch S69 (nice) Presser started.

First, I will say that last season clearly wasn't as good as we hoped but I thought our team showed a lot of promise at different times. We got off to a rough start, then started to put it together midway through the season. I believe at one point we were only 4 games out of the playoffs. Then we decided to change up our pace of play and that seemed to derail any momentum that we had. But this is still a learning process and I'm young so I believe we can be better this year.

We have a few new faces in here that have some real potential to get this team where we want to be. First rounder Dick Bender feels like a great addition to our big man rotation. I'm excited to see how Baba and Markham play together. And Ayo being the veteran leadership puts us in a spot to improve on last season. We're gonna play hard every single game. I'm not setting high expectations for us but I can guarantee that we will be prepared for anything that comes our way. I like where we are headed and don't be surprised if within a couple of seasons, we're competing for that boat.

I will now open the floor to any questions.

You were under a lot of pressure from fans to tank and try to get a better outcome in the lottery, why did you decide to push for a competitive season? Any regrets knowing you ended up about as expected, bottom of the Buddy Pedraza Division, but better than a few other teams in the league pushing you back a bit in the draft?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Tony Lee and Baba Miller both put up over 20 points a game in preseason, who do you expect to be your best scorer in the regular season and why do you give them the edge?

As I stated in last season's presser, I wasn't going to come in here just roll over. We understand we are inexperienced but we will fight every single play. Had we been able to continue that momentum we had midseason, we could be having a different conversation about how we made the playoffs in my first year. Scoring went up, our defense played better, but then we fell apart. I don't have any regrets about the season, all I can do is learn from it and be a better leader for this team, organization, and fanbase.

We hope to build off of last season and make a stronger push this season.

Tony and Babs have shown great potential playing together. I hope they can build on that chemistry throughout the season. I can see Tony finishing a bit higher in the scoring department because shooters love to shoot. Plus Tony is more efficient from deep so I think that also gives him a bit of an edge. Hopefully that puts teams on notice about them and they have trouble defending both.
