I’m not trading because I like what I’ve got. It’s working and there’s no reason to fix it if it’s not broken (reminder I went recommended and went 2-6 my first sim so my record is worse than it should be because of that). Now as far as other teams go I think the entire Omega Conference other than the Spurs, Pistons, Suns, and Rockets need to make trades. The Alpha conference has superior teams for the most part. For parity’s sake that needs to change in order to even out the conferences.

The Raptors need to trade or make some cuts to get under the cap. They also need to stay competive a few moves that cut just a bit of salary are just what the doctor ordered. Maybe Kevon Looney and points for E.J. Liddell. Some parallel talent for a bit less money. Hey I got Quincy Johnson who I send for 10 points and a more expensive expiring contract.

Yeah, I'm always looking to make a trade if there's one that makes sense. Even if your team is good (or purposefully bad), there are always moves you can make to achieve goals that are advantageous to your team. We talk about buying or selling like it's a binary, but it's a multi-axis scale. You can be a buyer but also one that's trying to lose salary. You can look towards the future while trying to remain competitive now. You can be trying to make lateral moves at different positions.

I'd like to see teams like the Kings, Cavs, Trailblazers, Bucks, and Jazz making trades just so they're more proactive on the trade market. The Omega teams are both in weird spots in a weak division/conference. They'll likely both be playoff teams, and they both have teams that are half good and half rebuilding. Neither team needs to go all in or sell off completely, but you don't want to be in the middle unless you're moving one direction or the other. The Cavs and Bucks are in the fight in a tough conference, so they should be trying to bulk up a little bit. I'd like to see the Jazz come up with their own long term plan and start making moves towards it rather than just accepting whatever trades are proposed to them.

The Heat. They've done a great job so far this year on the trade market, but as a team that's deep in the tax, they need to make as many moves as they can to get out of the tax.

C: Ware… oh wait.

I’d love to see the Mavs make a trade. Because if they are able to make a move based on their requirements and demands, they will be GMOY, STOTY, and probably a front runner to get into the playoffs for years to come.

I haven't updated my trade block for the deadline, but YES, I am looking to trade. Everyone is available. Cross and Stewart are much less touchable; Claxton cannot be traded due to the time I acquired him. The Kamari for Claxton deal was a big one - one I wished had better immediate payoff for the Raptors :( - but it was a move to upgrade a future core. That's exactly what I am trying to do, upgrade for the future. Cross / Stewart / Claxton are solid, but possibly not quite good enough to be the big 3 to go for a 'ship.

That said, I have any number of bench role players available for cheap, or hella cap space to take on some BS contract you need to send out. I've gotten some offers, so if you wanna kick me points to eat up my ~$80m cap space, hit me up!!

...Actually the Raps just had a solid sim, so nvm, I'm glad Kamari's back home kickin' ass for Toronto.
Somehow I manage.

Always happy to trade - I'd like to think I'm a pretty easy-going negotiator. Just send enough points to make it worthwhile for me if it is a salary dump or a player I can experiment with in my gameplans if we are swapping contracts and you will likely get a deal.

I'd like to see the Lakers trade that Jean Coss contract for a star player. I think that would add some needed chaos to the playoff race. If he ends up dumping it that would be anticlimatic. But if you do dump Coss, call me Mamba.

I think the Sacramento Kings need to trade Clarence Hollis or Wah Wah Jones for an upgrade at SF. The Kings playoff window is going to close sooner than they realize once Gary Rockwell and Trey Murphy III hit their inevitable wall. To waste the prime of their careers with .500 ball would be a shame.

Are you looking to make a trade? Why or why not?

Yes. I signed Coss to this contract for the flexibility to continue adding talent and finally get over the hump. So, I'd still like to pull one off, but I won't force it.

Who would you like to see make a trade? What for?

I think the Raptors could look to shift one of their higher priced vets for a similar, but less expensive version to get below the tax apron. It's a good team and all of the top of Alpha is fairly close together. However, they'd currently be out of a playoff spot so, probably don't wanna pay a tax if you're fighting for a 5-7 slot.

Who NEEDS to make a trade? Put em on blast!

Me. So I can try to survive my inevitable playoff injury to a major starter.

Well I'm writing this having already completed my trade deadline trade, but I'm here to explain the why. I was shopping most of my players with the exception of finch and Lewis. Ideally, I would have shipped mahmoud away because I don't feel like I can contend with the spurs in my conference. I had an epiphany and realized, you never know. I had a couple deals in the works but they were proving to be a little bit hard to fully complete. With the advice of two angels on my shoulders(other owners) I decided to stay pat. I traded Sandoval away for a cheaper big who will provide the same versatility and even more rim protection in Diallo. This allows me to cut my vet mins and save even more. Ultimately the goal is to build around my unicorn. And he was hungry during this all-star break player training period.

I'm open for trades. But I usually get weak offers. I'll get offers of old expensive blue players, for exchange of my young studs. It's not an equal trade. If you are going to offer me an old blue player who's about to become green player, then you need to add points to the trade. Now you know AB and K100.

Not really looking to make a trade but if one came along I would listen. I think my team is in a position to make a deep playoff run. It's up to my game planning and matchups tho. If Phil Smith was to come along, I may be willing to risk it all LOL.

Got my trade in
Definitely will be trading every time it makes sense in the near future.
I know Trayce Jackson-Davis is pretty popular as a target, don't imagine I'll have him on my roster for opening day in 68, but nobody should be sleeping on that Miami 1st pick in the 68 draft either.
Highest bid will secure it.

As far as other people needing to trade, I don't think anybody could have said it enough, so people stopped wasting their breath.
The Blazers positioned themselves very well to compete, and then mailed it in.
I would have loved to see them make a few moves and make a legitimate run this year.
Can't imagine why anyone would build so well and let it crumble.
I hope that guy is okay.

I have a hard time saying anybody NEEDS a trade because the tax situation for each team is something they are aware of. The guys going deep are prepared to pay, and most of the league is sitting comfortably.
Of those teams, it was obvious that LA was moving Coss, and they got it done.
And since that's the case, maybe the Spurs should have pushed further in,
but that's what she said!
What cha gonna do

I'd love to see the Nets make a move and acquire a big like Walker Kessler. They have such a great pool of rookie contracts but I wonder how they can keep everybody safe ahead of the next training camp. Kessler gives them a solid Center to build around like how I tried to do with Kevon Looney in Toronto.

Yeah, I'm looking to make trades, because there's some vets/young vets on my roster who don't really need to be here. It's been hard to make contracts fit though, limiting my options. I'm still hoping to hear back from a few, so who knows...

As for who I would like to see/who needs to trade...if you're in the middle of the Omega conference, then you need to see if you can get more talent, now. The real bottom of the conference is going to stay there for a while. There are only 3 true contenders right now. 2 have key components that are about to age out soon, and the other one faces FA uncertainty. But, Greeple and Quail have quality young cores and are in prime position to replace whoever falls out of the current top 3.

Point is, there's a lot of opportunity to set yourself up for unexpected success, but it's not going to come if you're twiddling your thumbs, waiting on your young talent to mature. If you don't have a solid group together before your developing guys get paid, then you're going to be mediocre when you pay them. Middling Omega teams need to get aggressive if they want to avoid being locked into finishing #6-8 for the next few seasons.

As a team, it’s in the Pistons best interest to stand pat and enjoy the success while the team is still developing. We really like our in house Core 5 of Carrasco, Timmerman, SVG, Markkanen & Dawes, and while we engaged other teams about a possible big move, nothing really panned out. If we hadn’t moved Warley or Rakes, there may have been some more legitimate options. But instead, we want to enjoy this growth while under the tax while we came… because the tax man comes soon. But our future is incredible bright and we don’t want to really shake that up.
